Chapter 17 - Numb

Greg spat, " doctor can you please tell us what happened to niall? Please don't scare us like this."

Doctor nodded and continued, "Niall is temporarily paralyzed... He can see, hear, feel, eat but can't move a muscle. If you take his responsibility you will have to take full care of him. Feed him, change him. Change dressing of his wounds, keep him company 24 hours."

Harry let out a breath of relief. At least he gets to be with Niall. "Doctor I'd take the responsibility to take care of my husband."

Doctor signed, "Are you sure?  It might take months maybe years for him to be back to normal."

Harry smile sadly "I vowed to take care of him for lifetime, i vowed to be with him on his best and worst days. I can't back off when he needs me the most, doctor. I vowed to love him. And when i say I love him, i don't just say it... I mean it."

Doctor smiled and took the papers out for harry to sign.

After the paperwork nurse took them to Nialls hospital room, but before she left the middle aged nurse smiled up at harry with tears in her eyes as she said "Niall was right about you. You really are an angel."

Harry frown and looked down in shame. He didn't deserve this.
Niall has always been praising him, making him look like some kind of an angel in peoples view and all he did was cheat on him.

What did he do to deserve Niall.

Now he was determined.
To make niall better.
To love him unconditionally.

He's not going back or ever will give up on him.

They enter the hospital room.
A faint beep was heard from the monitor that was attached to niall.
That was his heart beat.

Harry walked closer to niall seeing the love of his life lying there. He looked pale. His lips were chapped.

Niall always had this beautiful freckles on his nose and cheeks.
To others this might make them look insecure but to me it made him look even more beautiful.

Niall opened his eyes slowly and saw harry standing staring at him.
He didn't know what to feel. Was he happy to see harry still there with him ? or was he upset about what he did to him in the past.

Niall looked away. He can't look harry the way he used to. He was afraid he can never look at him that way.

A tear rolled harrys cheek.
He knew he had done wrong. He knew niall has changed.
He might not ever love him again but harry won't give up. He would never.

Niall saw his older brother standing next to his bed.
He smiled up at him.

"Hey nialler." Greg whispered.

"Hi Greg... how are ya?" Niall spoke. His voice cracked.

"M okey ni... you got me so worried."

Niall sign "sorry about that.."

Greg nodded "Don't worry bud just rest... harry will be here if you need anything."

Niall frawns. "Why?"

"Because only one member is allowed to stay and of course that'll be harry he has taken respo-"

"You should leave the time is over for visiters to visit." Harry cut him in between. Harry didn't want niall to know that he was doing this for him.

Niall didn't respond after that. He was just sad.
He was numb. Couldn't feel anything at the moment.
He just wanted to rest.. rest for a while.

And thats what he did.
He closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep.
