My life was crumbling around me. My home. My friends. My daughter. My wife. All of it seemed so fragile. Who was I to ruin all that I had worked so hard to build?
All I wanted was to be happy. Isn't that the American dream? Isn't that in our Nature?
All I needed was him. Him and only him. As long as I had him, I'd be alright.
That's what I'd told myself in the beginning anyway....now I wasn't so sure. I had to be strong though, for him and for myself.
"Kellin?" A voice said from behind me. I turned to meet a blue gaze just above my eye level. My smile burst from my lips of it's own accord. "It's time." The deep voice behind the gaze said. With each word he spoke, I felt my worries melting away.
I nodded and gulped. Long, smooth fingers laced themselves with mine.
This was the start of our forever.
