"Come on, Jess. Do we have to go to this party?" Kellin groaned as they trudged along the street. The sun was setting behind them, causing their shadows to dance as they walked."I told you, the label wanted us to get to know the rest of the bands a little better. Bands who get along makes for good publicity." Jesse replied as he eyes looked at the numbers on the mailboxes. "224. 226. 228! It's this one guys!." He smiled as he began to trek up the driveway.
Kellin detested parties, he always had. Even his own wedding reception brought him little joy. If not for the fact that Katelynn had been there he might not have had a reception at all. He gave a small sigh as he followed the rest of his band into the white house.
Noise filtered out of the hall as they stood by the door and kicked off their shoes. Many voices that sounded familiar to Kellin but he couldn't place them. There were also voices Kellin had never heard before, one very deep and husky one in particular.
A man appeared from the hallway with a smile on his face. "Jesse!" The man smiled throwing his arms up for a bro hug. Jesse smiled and collided with the man.
"What's up Chris?" Jesse asked as he pulled away.
The man was thin, almost more so then Kellin. He had piercings on his lip and nose, along with a pair of silver gauges in his ears. Brown hair sat neatly in a bowl cut that fell just above the tops of his ears. He looked like he could pass for a kid in high school, but judging by the smell of weed that clouded around him- Kellin figured he was a bit older.
"Not much man, livin free. Enjoying this amazing journey life has for me." Chris smiled.
"Oh sorry, introductions. Guys this is Christofer Drew of NeverShoutNever. He'll be headlining the tour with us. Chris, this is Justin, Jack, Gabe and of course Kellin." Jesse said gesturing to the rest of the band. "Chris and I were in Cub Scouts as kids together.
Kellin tried to fake a smile and gave a small wave as Chris' eyes grazed over him.
"Come on in, meet the rest of the guys." Chris smiled as he walked to the back of the house. The rest of the guys filed in behind, Kellin bringing up the rear. They walked down a hallway with nothing but framed pictures of nature on the walls. Large, dying trees. Tall, blooming flowers. Each one taken from a different angle but pretty none the less.
They emerged into a large dining room. White tile, beige walls and a large old wooden oak table in the middle that lay littered with beer bottles and cigarette butts. The awful stench of weed hung in the air. Kellin never had a taste for the stuff. Didn't affect him the way it was intended, just left him with a nasty headache and a bad taste in his mouth.
"You guys alreayd know Matty and Anthony from Memphis. Ollie from Bring Me the Horizon. Trenton and Matt from Hands like houses. And finally Andy and CC from Black Veil Brides. Guys, this is Kellin, Jack, Justin, Gabe and my hombre Jesse." Chris said picking up a red solo cup off the table with his name scribbled on the side.
Kellin moved his gaze over each and every person sitting at the table. Each one responded with a nod. Except for Andy. His cobalt gaze met Kellin's and he smiled. A genuine, happy, friendly smile that warmed Kellin from the inside. Something about the smile sparked a happiness inside him. He pondered it the rest of the evening and even on the drive home.
What about those brilliant cyan eyes was so fascinating to him? Who was Andy Biersack?
