The world was wide enough

Part 10

"Hello students, my name is Mr. Washington." the man said. he explained some things about himself and had us introduce ourselves. I liked this teacher. he was pretty cool. he acted in almost a fatherly way.

it reminded me of my past. I tried to think of something else. John, now he was all I could think about. I started to get lost in my thoughts. after what felt like a few minutes, I felt someone shaking me softly.

"Hello, Earth to Alex..." a voice said softly. John had been looking at me weirdly the whole time and I didn't even realize it. I chuckled.

"Oh, sorry I zoned out for a while." I replied. he laughed silently. his voice was amazing, like an angel. my eyes slowly drifted toward his lips without him noticing. oh how I wanted to kiss them....*no, you shouldn't think this way about someone you only just met the day before Alexander!* I thought to myself.

I stopped myself from thinking anything else and listened to Mr. Washington. he talked about history and how we were going to be learning about the founding fathers, mainly Lin-Manuel Miranda. Finally, the bell rang. I had biology, sadly. I sighed, said goodbye to John, and walked down the hallway.

As I was walking, I ran into Eliza. she smiled and waved.

"Hey! Where are you headed?" She asked curiously.

"Biology..." I replied. her face lit up with happiness. her eyes seemed to sparkle the moment after I replied.

"Awesome, we have class together! C'mon, we can walk to class with each other! The classroom is only a minute away!" She said excitedly, grabbing my hand. I laughed as we began walking. We chatted and walked until we arrived at the classroom. I sat down next to her and got settled.

"So, how is school so far?" she asked

"Pretty good. Even better now that I know that I have someone I know in my biology class!" I replied happily. we continued chatting until the teacher walked in. I smiled and took out my materials that I needed.

*This year might not be so bad after all....* I thought to myself sighing quietly. I looked at a smiling Eliza, then back at the teacher. We started class.
