When Maka woke up she was alone on her bed. Although she clearly remembered Soul climbing into bed with her, even after she turned him down. It's not that she didn't want to, he was Soul Evans for shits sake, who wouldn't want to jump him. But there was something off about him. It's like that's all he wanted. Sex. Which most guys (and girls) want but it's like he put off the actual talking. They had known each other for years but now it was like he was a completely different person. That's when Maka decided that she was going to get it out of him. Whatever it was that made him only want the physical part of a relationship and not the emotional part.
Maka got out of bed and put on her usual clothes and made her way out to the kitchen/living room. "Hey Maka. You sleep okay? You moved around a lot." Soul was placing the breakfast he just made on the table and held the chair out for Maka as she sat down. She nodded a thanks to Soul. She was still trying to find the words to start the conversation that she was now being to dread. "Maka is everything okay?" Soul had sat down at the table across from her. He could clearly tell that something was on her mind, although he didn't want to ask. "Soul. I just.. I mean.. Is there.." Maka was struggling to find the right words. "What is it? Spit it out girl." Soul continued to eat as he waited for Maka to speak. "Are you only with me for sex?" Needless to say Soul had spit out his food at the question. Maka didn't want to say it so bluntly but how else was she suppose to ask? There's only so many was to phrase a question like that.
"What are you talking about Maka? You know I love you." Soul cleaned up the food he had just spit out and tried to continue eating the rest of his breakfast. "Yeah I know. You've told me. And I love you too. But ever since we started dating it's like every night you just want sex. You never want to talk to me, normally, anymore." Maka hadn't touched any of her food. She was just trying to keep it together while talking. Soul stopped eating and looked Maka in the eyes. "Laura Dillions." Maka didn't know what Soul meant. "What?" "Laura Dillions is the girl that raped me before I came here." Maka was clearly stunned by what Soul had just said. She had no idea that that happened to him. "Soul I had no idea. I'm so sorry." Soul had begun to clear the table as he continued to talk.
"Well when I say rape it was like a physical type thing, it was more emotional. I was really invested in that relationship, mostly because it was the first real one I had had. We dated for five years. Hell I thought that maybe we would get married. Everyone said that we were perfect for each other. She was a great match according to my friends. But she didn't like my soul song. You know the one you heard me playing when we first met. She said it was too dark and depressing. That I needed to be more happy and cheerful since I was with her. I was happy but she never was. She wanted me for sex. And I didn't realize that. Five years of being used and I was totally blind to the fact of it. No one else saw it either. I guess she got really good at hiding things and faking things. Apparently she had been cheating on me with five other guys throughout our whole relationship. I mean I knew I wasn't the best in bed, after all she was my first in ways. But I told her a lot of things. Hurtful things. Things no one else knew about me and she talked about them in ways that made them seem irrelevant. As time went on she got more mean. She started to talk down to me. She degraded me in everything every chance she got. After awhile I had finally had enough and decided I deserved better, so I left her. After all she had five other guys to keep her entertained. So I'm sorry if I made it seem like I only wanted you for sex. I want you for everything. I want your smile, your laugh, your caring nature, your random outburst of fun, your book hitting, your lectures, your authoritative attitude, your smarts, and most of all I want your love. Because without your love I'm nothing."
Maka, who had been sitting down and listening the whole time, had gotten up and ran up to Soul. He was a little taken aback but wrapped his arms around her in a protective embrace. "Soul I had no idea. I'm so sorry. I must of seemed so selfish all these years. I love you so much Soul Eater Evans and nothing will ever change that." Maka looked into Souls eyes and he knew she was telling the truth. After everything that had just been said they decided to stay inside and binge watch Supernatural for the rest of the day. They didn't really talk much. They honestly didn't have to. Both of them were glad that the other had understood and excepted them as they were. And that's all they needed. Each other.
