Haruhi woke up in a strange new bed in a strange new house. At first, she was a little freaked out. But then all of the memories from the past few days came rushing back into her brain.
Great. She had a headache this early in the morning.
She sighed and swung her legs over the thick comforter. Haruhi had never lived in a place as fancy as this before, and everything about it seemed interesting. Even the bath she took last night was exciting enough for her to gawk at.
The heavy closet doors right next to her bed were already pushed open a crack, and she could see that someone had already been in there. When she walked over, all of the outfits were jumbled up and scattered around. Only one of them was laid out for her, and that was her uniform.
It must have been the twins, She thought.
The twins.
She grimaced against her will when she began to think of them. The truth was, they kind of intimidated her. Especially Hikaru. His threatening face from last night was still etched in her mind, and she thought that the whole scenario was stolen from some kind of vampire movie. It certainly seemed that way-- I mean, if you put fangs in their mouths and made their skin paler, they'd still look attractive. And they already had the eerie yellowish eyes.
Shaking her shoulders, she brushed that thought aside for now. She didn't have time to imagine boy-crazy stories in her head. Actually, she was suprised she even thought that in the first place.
The uniform (as she had thought about before), was truly horrendous. The puffy shoulder sleeves kept getting caught over her arms, and the skirt was very hard to walk in. When she checked herself in the mirror, all she could think was: "Why do I look like a walking pineapple?"

Hikaru woke up with a start. He literally bolted upright and almost fell off of the bed. He turned his head to see that Kaoru had done the same.
It was day one. Day one of complete and total hell.
Kaoru sighed deeply, knowing that nothing he said would change the path of where the moring was headed. He ran a hand through his spikey pink-orange hair and stood up slowly. Hikaru flopped back onto his pillow and groaned, not wanting to step foot outside his room.
Kaoru opened the closet and grimmaced when he saw the purple blazer hanging there. It wasn't as bad as the female uniform, but it was still pretty bad. He slid off his pajama bottoms and began dressing. Hikaru rolled out of bed next and joined him in the closet, both of them grumbling and yawning.
As soon as they had their uniforms on, they somehow managed to drag themselves downstairs and ignore the magnetic force pulling them back into bed. The whole event of breakfast was just downright depressing. The milk was even expired. Hikaru found that out the hard way when he accidentaly poured the sour glumps into pancake batter.
"Good morning," Haruhi said softly. She walked in the room and the mood almost immediatley changed. The twins looked at her in the horiffic yellow monster dress and the room was silent for a while. Finally, Kaoru put a hand over his mouth and let out a choked laugh. Hikaru didn't even try to hide his-- and soon enough, the whole room exploded with laughter. Haruhi just sweatdropped and put on a gloomy expression.
"T-that thing!" Hikaru gasped, "It looks uglier in person!"
Haruhi cracked a smile and silently agreed.
"I know, but theres nothing that I can do about it. If we wanted to go change the whole design we'd have to go to the chairman of the school." She said.
Once the word "chairman" slipped out of her lips, the twins stopped laughing and looked at her with mere disgust.
"Never mention him again. Or his son-- especially his son. Understand?" They breathed. She nodded, confused. What deal did they have with the head of the school's family?
Kaoru softened up before his brother.
"Nevermind him. We should get going."

A Half-Hour later, at Ouran Academy
********
Haruhi and the Hitachiins slowly worked her way up the long pathway to Ouran Academy. Once they reached the front of the building (where all of the other students were waiting), they stopped and sat down on the steps. Haruhi noticed that no one had approached them, but were giving them nervous glares.
Hikaru whipped out his phone and started a game with Kaoru. Soon, they were totally absorbed in the technology and forgot about Haruhi altogether.
She was admiring the school from an outsiders perspective until she noticed a blonde boy drop his bag. She sprang up and walked over.
"Do you need any help?" Haruhi asked. She didn't wait for an answer, she just bent down and picked up some of the scattered papers before smiling and handing them back.
He blushed a little when he saw her face.
"Thank you, my dear," He said, holding out a hand. She took it and stood up again. "Who might you be?"
"I'm Haruhi Fujioka," She replied, letting go of his hand.
The boy smiled, showing off perfect white teeth.
"Nice to meet you," He said in his melodious voice, "my name is Tamaki Suoh."

Cliffhanger! I know that I'm not really portraying Haruhi as how she acts in the anime/manga, but I kind of wanted to give her my own twist. You may notice it in future chapters. I may do a double update today, but we'll see how it goes.
