Solange pushed her hair out of her face, pouting as she wiped at the sweat on her forehead. What the hell was this?
She honestly felt like she had been scammed. Free exploration my ass. She gazed down at her bronze colored skin, frowning in disgust at the sweat building. It was hotter than hell, she had virtually been dumped in the middle of nowhere and she had officially come to the conclusion that she hated the government.
Her life had been shit for the last twenty five years and just as she had thought that maybe her luck was changing...it all turned out to be too good to be true. She tsked, it figured. Things that sounded too good to be true usually were.
She had just lost her job, got home and found an eviction noticed tacked on her apartment door and only had one pack of ramen noodles and an energy bar left in her fridge. Her day couldn't have been any worse. She had sat down on her old run down sofa and cried herself silly, munching on the gross salted energy bar until she fell into a teary eyed sleep. When she woke up, she washed her face, hopped on her computer and began searching for jobs. If there was one thing she had learned about life, it was that it didn't fix itself. She sat at her computer screen, searching through ads and sites that promised to help the average consumer find jobs until she turned blue in the fax. She sighed after a while and rubbed at her tired eyes...and then suddenly, bam! She checked her email and waiting for her there was an official document offering her the chance of a lifetime! An opportunity to visit the newly explored planet Tuturi, all expenses paid and even a personal paycheck for the participant.
She had immediately thought it was a scam and almost deleted it...almost. Attached to the email was several files and a contractual disclaimer, leaving the government not responsible for anything that could happen to her. That part made her pause but she had figured that nothing could be nearly as bad as her shitty life on earth.
She had obviously been wrong. This whole "exploration" thing had merely been a ploy for government testing and since she had signed herself up to be a guinea pig. They wanted to test if the planet's climate would be able to inhabit humans. They had given her enough food for a month, a tent and all the fixings and a little clock calendar set for the day she was to be picked up. Basically she was trapped in an episode of 'Survivor'.
She couldn't believe her luck. She ran a hand through her hair, staring down at the tent that was to be her home for the next four weeks and sighed.
"Fóllame," she mumbled in Spanish. "My life is amazing. Just great, I just freaking love it!"
She kicked at the auburn colored dirt, stomping her feet in a tantrum. She obviously had no way out of this. She stood still for a long while, contemplating what she should do. When she realized that there wasn't much for her to do she turned toward the surrounding forest area littered around her. She swallowed nervously. She was sure nothing had ever been nearly as frightening. But still she was on another planet and her curiosity out lived her fear and her anger. She stared at the blue tinted grass, fascinated with its cool color. Her eyes wavered toward the trees and she couldn't help the small smile that played at her lips when she noticed the leaves were yellow and red, the colors of fall on earth. She wondered if it was fall on this planet now.
She took a step away from her camp area but froze when an unfamiliar, terrifying rattling sound echoed through the trees.
She turned on her heel and ran back toward her camp, slipping inside the tent and zipping it closed behind her.

Vultar grinned at the young babes as they played around the village, many of them chasing one another or playing with wooden dolls. The sleeping child in his arms stirred and he repositioned her, her sleep going undisturbed.
The children of the village were a great source of wonder to him. He quite simply loved them. He loved their energy and their giggles and most of all he wanted many of his own.
Familiar sounds of grumbling erupted behind him and he turned to see his friend, the chief, Keagan mumbling to himself, his face dark with upset. Vultar smiled for he knew only one person could put such a look on his friends face.
"Are you fighting with your human again?" Vultar teased, he did not care that Keagan's mate was human, he merely enjoyed ribbing Keagan about the fact.
Keagan made a growling sound, his silver curls dancing as he ran his fingers through them. "Do not tease me now, Vultar. I am in no mood for it."
"What do you argue over now, my friend?"
Keagan continued to frown, crossing his arms over his broad chest, "She continues to preach her human customs! Things I do not understand! She cries over this fruit she calls chocolate and damns me for not having any to give her."
Vultar laughed, unable to stop himself, the child in his arms waking up and rubbing at her eyes. He gently sat her onto the ground and she clung to his leg, still sleepy eyed. "Elder Kuni-wa says that it is normal for my mate to be so hysterical but I cannot grow used to it, I am not used to her shedding so many tears over such trivial things."
Vultar patted Keagan on the shoulder, "Think no more of the strangeness of mothering. Think of only the babe you will have in a few moon's time."
"You are right," Keagan said though he continued to frown. Vultar knew that no matter how hard his friend tried to forever play the dominate, calm leader that he had a soft spot for only his mate and that he still tried to please her despite his tough act.
"Come," Vultar volunteered, grinning as his easy going nature had him prone to do, "Let us go to the elder's hut. Maybe fate shall make it that elder Kuni-wa have the ingredients for this 'chocolate' your mate craves?"
Keagan's frown completely disappeared and Vultar's smile widened, he knew exactly how to play to his friends whims. Keagan made a beeline for the elder's tent and Vultar softly urged the tired eyed babe to head to her parent's hut before following after Keagan.
