"So... let me get this right." You stated flatly, staring into the eye-lights of the skeleton in front of you with a disbelieving expression. "Not only are you a skeleton, you're a mix of two different ones?" You raised an eyebrow. "And your clothes are from some sort of comic book?"
"Manga book," corrected the skeleton. "But, uh, yeah. Pretty much."
You rolled your eyes. "I don't even- How'd you get to look like a manga character again?" You questioned, pondering in your head why you weren't completely freaked out by the situation put before you. You figured it was just because reality just wasn't necessarily connecting with you right now- I mean, this should be impossible. By several measurements. But yet, here you sat, in front of a talking skeleton. You tried to take what G was saying seriously, but some of it was just too ridiculous for you to handle.
"I told you already. Frisk made that their 'Pivot Point' that manga book, by accident of course. They had no real control over it. 'S something to connects you to reality... Well, that's what Gaster theorized. It was a pretty accurate theory, as well. It actually elected our reality after the 'Shift'. When they combined their will to stay there- To remember what little they could, it, well, created me." He informed you, turning his head to stare distantly into the forest as if replaying memories in that skull of his.
"...And that makes so much sense," you muttered sarcastically. G just ignored you, continuing to speak.
"Ya know, I actually had no memory at first." He kept staring into the forest. "It sort of came back to me when I passed places that were... Familiar to Gaster or Sans. Eventually, I could recall mostly everything." He turned his gaze towards you. "I could, uh, sorta feel their presence in my head." He shrugged.
"Well, that's not weird at all," you spat, glaring metaphorical daggers at the tall skeleton. He just smirked down at you. "Why're you telling me this, anyways? I mean, you did say that it was because I didn't react with fear, or something like that... But uh. That seems highly unlikely to be the main reason for you to tell me this story." You said flatly, raising an eyebrow at G. "Plus, your words were sorta awkwardly placed."
G stared at you. "Oh, really?" He chuckled. "Why'd you agree so easily, then, if you're so clever?" He questioned. You could've sworn he was mocking you with the amusement in his eyes, but decided to let it go.
"'Cause it's not every day you get to see an actual fucking Skeleton?" You said, pointing out the obvious.
...You just hoped he didn't hear the uncertainty in your words.
"Heh," chuckled the skeleton. He didn't seem to completely believe you. "Oh, it's getting late, huh?" He pointed out, looking upwards through the top branches of the trees. "...Mind bringin' a Skeleton home with ya, for a night, in return for the information? 'S kinda hard to find a place when you're a literal Monster..." He landed his eye-lights on your pupils with a pleading look.
...That tricky little- So that's why he was telling you this. Does he really think Humans are that brain dead?!
"I never agreed to that," you spat. "You can't just suddenly say I have to due something in return for a bit of backstory from a stranger-"
"I'm not saying you have to." He said, keeping perfectly calm... Somehow. "I'm just asking a favor..."
"I barely own an apartment myself, and how do you expect me to smuggle a skeleton in there. I-I won't."
G chuckled again. "Ah, but you are forgetting something. I still have the 'shortcuts' I... Can use." He smirked uncertainly.
"I said I won't do it, you idiot. And the shortcuts just make you exhausted." You growled in a deep tone, glaring at G.
"Ah, so be it." He shrugged. "I'm bone-tired already, I'll probably just collapse on the nearest bed."
"I don't think you're hearing me out," you argued in a dark tone. "I said NO. And that's my final answer. It's not changing."
G sighed. The tall skeleton let his gaze fall solemnly to his untied black boots, his expression hurt. "I..." He started, but trailed off. "Heh, it's okay... I s'pose I could just... Hide out under something... Again." He smiled brokenly at the forestry ground, his gaze darkening.
...You were not going to pity this skeleton you met only a few hours ago.
...
You were not going to-
"I- ugh, fine. I suppose you can." You said out of impulse. G's expression immediately shifted back to his normal one, any hints of his sorrow disappearing in a flash.
"Cool. See ya there." He snapped his fingers, disappearing.
You growled. "Are you kidding me," you thought aloud. Well, you could give G credit for good acting skills, at least. You glared at the spot the skeleton had disappeared at. "And he didn't even bother to spare me the struggle of finding my way back, hmm?" You sighed.
"So be it..."
