You Never

You called me ugly
You called me fat
I was useless
All of that

You said you were joking
And everyone else, too,
I should lighten up
And listen to you

You never noticed my fake laugh,
Or my terrible frown,
You never noticed I can to school in the summer
With my sleeves rolled all the way down,

You never saw my arms,
Those red little slashes,
Or the inner of my thigh,
All covered in gashes,

You never noticed me cry,
And start to eat less,
My grades fell behind,
I became a mess

But you carried on,
And continued to laugh,
Until on day,
I never came back...
