~*Jerome*~I can't believe I actually did that. Me, a man born within the city limits, kiss another man and enjoy it. If anyone finds out, I'm as good as dead... but I have no regrets. It felt like sparks were flying in my head. A strange, yet, addicting feeling. I could stay like this for days. But, disappointingly, I have to breathe. So a minute will have to be all.
Reluctantly, I break the kiss and look at him. Ben- Mitch, was bright red. He looks adorable when he blushes."Cute," I say with a quiet laugh.
"I-I'm not cute!" Mitch sputters out, looking away.
"Whatever you say." I chuckle softly and shake my head. "But let this be clear. We do not speak of this relationship with anyone. Got that?"
"Relationship?!" Mitch's eyes widen. "No, I don't think you'd-"
"Listen." I cover his mouth with my hand, keeping him from talking. "I'd be lying if I said I didn't love you. But if you're not ready, I understand. Just remember that I'll always be by your side." His eyes search mine, as if he was looking for any signs of lying. He doesn't completely believe me... the wasteland has messed up his trust...
I want to fix that.
"Thank you," he says quietly once I move my hand away. I smile at him before looking at the sky.
"It's getting late. We should head inside."
"To your house?"
"Where else?"
"Right." he looks at the ground and shakes his head. "I'm stupid. Do you think your grandparents will let me stay over?"
"I'm sure they wouldn't mind. As long as you don't sleep in the same room as me, I think we'll be fine." I smile encouragingly at him. "It's going to be alright. Relax."
"I don't think you realize it just yet," he says quietly. "Now that I've told you everything, you can't leave my side. Wherever I go, you have to come with. Even outside of the city."
"I'm well aware of that." I wrap and arm around his shoulders. "And I'm willing to do so if it involves being with you."

"Benjamin! It's good to see you!" My grandmother cheers, hugging Mitch. She still thinks his name is Benjamin... I chuckle quietly at the thought."It's good to see you too," Mitch says with a smile.
"You're staying over again?"
"Only if you're ok with it."
"Of course you can stay! You are always welcome!" Mitch smiles at her again.
"Thank you."
"Jerome, show him to his room alright?" Grandmother turns to me.
"I know the rules," I say with a small laugh before walking toward the stairway.
"They're not going to like me when we leave," Mitch mumbles quietly as he follows me up the stairs.
"They won't like you for a while. But they'll forgive you. Eventually. One thing about them, they don't hold grudges for too long." Mitch doesn't respond. He's always careful about how people react to him... he doesn't want to seem cold and heartless like the stereotypes predict people like him to be. In reality, they're all just like city folk that don't trust easily.
"You still here Jerome?" My thoughts were interrupted by Mitch waving his hand in my face.
"Sorry, what?" I ask, looking at him.
"You were spacing out. I asked you if I could borrow some more clothes."
"You don't have to ask," I say with a small laugh. "Just go ahead and take whatever you want."
"Alright," Mitch says hesitantly before opening my door and walking into my room to raid my closet. Lets hope he doesn't leave that bad of a mess.
~*Woof*~
That City boy... that's who I need. I walk through the vacant, after curfew city streets, twirling my knife. I'm perfectly safe walking in the open. Only wannabes who've never been outside the city would ever think of attacking me. Seriously, it's happened three times within the small amount of time I've been in this sickening city. But hey, is good to practice on things that don't run away. The sound of a rock being kicked brings me back to reality. Sighing, I stop twirling the knife and turn around to see a man standing in the open. He didn't look like much of a threat. Probably another wannabe.
"Let me guess," I state, crossing my arms. "I crossed into another wannabe wastelander's territory?"
"I'm not a wannabe," The man says calmly, his arms crossed over his chest. "But yes, this is my clan's territory. I suggest you leave before things get messy."
"I'm not scared of a spoiled city brat," I state, uncrossing my arms to reveal the knife.
"Good. I'm not either." He uncrossed his arms, revealing that he was also wielding a knife. "The name's Nooch."
