Ellison Delaney grinned.

He wasn't going to deal with the terror of Halloween. He shook his head. "It's not the time to gloat", Marjorie Delaney, his wife, said.

"I'm not gloating; I'm living the dream".

"Halloween will scare you to death, honey".

"Nothing will scare me, dear". He smiled at her.

By seven o'clock in the early evening, there were ten teenagers. They were dressed as monsters; they were holding wicker baskets in their hands.

"TRICK R' TREAT!", a girl yelled.


Ellison opened the front door.

"Here's a box of lollies, kids".

"Thank you, Sir! Happy Halloween!", a boy said.

"Happy Halloween", he said.
