It was a dark night at Halloween Town when Ryder Harris gazed at the pumpkins. "How much for one of them?", he asked a woman who was dressed as a Dracula bride.

"Two dollars", she answered.

Ryder gave her the note.

"Thanks! Are you going to carve it up for Halloween?", she asked.

"Yes!", Ryder answered.

"Can I help you giving the children treats?".

"Sure, what's your name?".

"Emily Sanders".

"Ryder".

And she nodded, and closed down her shop.

Tracie Graves, a Halloween Town sorority girl, stared at the teenagers. "Good evening Emily. I didn't know Ryder was here", she said.

"You know him?", Emily asked.

"Yes, we used to date", Tracie answered.

"Oh".

"Don't worry, we weren't going to marry".

"Uh, shall we chop up some pumpkins", Ryder said.

"Yes", Emily said.

The Church bell tolled six o'clock.

Father McDonald shook his head.

He hated Halloween. It wasn't a Christian tradition. He was scanning the teenagers as he saw everyone was dressed as monsters.

He made the sign of the Cross, and prayed to God before the service was held in the middle of town.

Ryder arrived at his house.

The porch light illuminated the front and back doors.

"Okay, since Halloween is the favorite time of the year, I'll be making sure the pumpkins will be chopped on a bread board".

Tracie and Emily walked after him.

Ryder's parents smiled.

"How are you, Ryder?", his mom said.

"I'm fine. Emily and Tracie are here to celebrate Halloween".

"That's good", she said.

And they walked to the kitchen, as Ryder begun to use a butcher knife to cut up the pumpkins.
