I looked in the wardrobe, I check under the bed. I couldn't find it anywhere! Where on earth did I leave my suitcase?

I accepted the offer without a blink. Rosemary was to stay with my mum in her peaceful country home whilst I traveled the world. Every time I said it out loud, I felt shivers running through my entire body. I am going to travel the world! The news hadn't quite settled in with my mother, though. I spoke to her last weekend over the phone. She lived in my hometown, Bruton. The town was just right for her, quite, close knitted and all that she wanted. Raising me as a single parent wasn't an easy task for an orphan like her. She managed it quite well though and now lived happily in her four-bed cottage with a garden that's the size of a football ground. She had worked hard all her life, working on other peoples farms and managing farm shops. She had finally saved enough to buy her own farm at 40. Now, she rents that farm to others and lives off the money it makes. She's got a good life, but it is definitely is not my cup of tea. I ran away from the claustrophobic little town as soon as I turned 18. After a few years in Bristol, London became my home.

" Is this your way of being funny again Aby?" I heard it in her hopeful voice. " Mum, this really is an opportunity I cannot turn down. You wanted me to do everything I want in life right? As long as it wasn't something that would bring shame to our lives. This is the beginning of the life I would like to live, this is my moment." " What about Rosemary? You can't leave that poor cat?" Again, I sensed she was coming up with things that will make me change my mind. After all, Rosemary was my baby. Although, a little on the fatter side, she has been with me since I left home 7 years ago. My partner in crime.

" I really want you to know mum, I love you. I know you will look after Rosemary. I know you will forgive me for leaving you both. Anyway, Mr. Bennett has told me that we will in London every few months. Which means, I will visit you both often. Much more often than I do now!" " I suppose, that's something to look forward to. You will be safe, though, right?" It took me a good hour to explain to her that I was going to work for a very important man who has his own security guards and would live in fine hotels. After a few days, she was excited for me and came by to collect Rosemary and spend some much needed time with her daughter. It was great having her around. I had home cooked meals every day and didn't have to lift a finger to clean anything! She did it all, my beloved mother. Which might explain why I am finding it hard to find my suitcase. She may have moved it to a 'better place'. The phone rang for a few rings before she picked the phone, " Hello?" " Mum, it's me." " Hello, Me. Nice to speak to you." "Mum...." chuckled. " How are you, sweetheart? Everything okay?" " Yep. All good. You wouldn't happen to know where my suitcase is would you?" " I find it hard to digest that you are struggling to find a suitcase in your tiny little apartment. You only have a living/bedroom and a closet that you call a kitchen. " " Mum... come on. Help me!" " Alright. Look behind the sofa bed. I thought it would be better out of sight." " Oh... thanks mum. How are you and Rosemary keeping?" " I think your cat likes the house better. She has a lot of places to hide and run around. I might be keeping her for good. " " She's my cat, mum. You can borrow her for now." I laughed.

I was standing next to the sofa bed that faced my actual bed. I just thought to have a sofa bed was better than people sitting on my bed when they visited. Well, I can be dominant over my space sometimes.

Al I was going to take with me were my work dresses, a couple of jeans for when I have time to explore and three pairs of shoes. One pair for walking and running, one pair for work and one for evening or parties. Not that I was likely to go to any by myself. With everything packed, I was ready for Mr.Bennett to pick me up. Our first stop was going to be, Costa Brava in Spain.
