“Lizzy get up we’re going to miss the jet!” my brother, Arden yelled in my ears. He forgot dad was the deaf one, I guess. I slapped him in the face before getting up, which made him laugh, obviously, Arden would find that funny.
After I took my shower, I pulled my hair into a ponytail and put on sweats and a crop top. I was going on a plane for thirty minutes; I had no need to dress fancy. Not for this occasion at least. After I “accidently trashed the mall” as my dad had payed the press to say, it was too much for his reputation. Aw, nice to know he cared, huh? My brother and I were moving from Cali to Texas with my aunt Lindsey, at least she wasn’t that boring. Fun. What more could you do in Texas then live on a farm? It’s what it’s like over there I think.
“LIZ COME ON THE PLANE LEAVES IN 30 MINUTES!” dad yelled from downstairs.
He cared about me a lot, huh? I took my 2 suitcases and ran down the stairs.
“Get over it, I’m ready” I said rolling my eyes and grabbing a can of Voltage Mountain Dew and my hedgehog, Puffy.
Our ride to the plane turned out to be so silence, expect for my earbuds blasting “Lost in stereo” by All Time Low. The jet was ugly as I expected it to be. It had Bratz all over the outside of the plane. I put my bags in rolling my eyes. I kind of was pissed to leave this place since all my friends lived here, and well yeah it was California and I was going to Texas, why wouldn’t I be pissed off. The flight finally only took 20 minutes in which I was listening to music angrily ignoring Arden who kept trying to make conversation with me.
Arriving at the airport in Texas, this girl, with crazy canary yellow hair, had a sign with Arden and my name written on it. She came running to us “Lizzy, Arden, I’ve missed you so much!” she stated hugging us. “OMG Liz! Did you really dye your hair blue?!?” I glanced at my naturally blond hair dyed blue, “Well it sure isn’t red.” I said smirking at the thought of my aunt being colorblind, it would be funny.
I took a glance at the house. It was fine, not too big, but still big enough. Right next to the house stood a stable where I could see the horses inside. Great, now if she has more than horses, I’m out of here!”
What? Chickens freak me out and, they’d probably try to kill Puffy. “Lindsey? Do you have more than horses here?” I asked my voice worried. “Yeah I have pigs, cows and chickens, but don’t worry they’re at least 5 meters away from here and you won’t have to approach them anyways. The neighbors kid, Jake, takes care of them for me usually.” She said, careless that THEY MIGHT EAT MY ONLY PET. “Ok, so I don’t have to approach anything that I don’t want to?” I said almost happy.
She smirked, “Well, if you’re suggesting it, you COULD go pick up the eggs with Jake tomorrow if you want to...” Arden, being the over-protective older brother he is quickly almost yelled “NO IT’S FINE I WANT TO PICK UP THE EGGS!”
I grinned and lifted an eyebrow “Arden, why so excited to pick up eggs with that Jake guy? Are you hiding things from me?” He shoved me onto a pile of hay as I let out a little scream.
My room was pink. Pink. Why Pink? Why couldn’t it be plain white or orange or anything else? Anyways I was tired, I jumped into my pajamas, put my clothes in the closet, which was probably huge enough to hold a car and went to set up Puffy’s cage downstairs even thought I leaved him loose in my room, when I was out, he went into his cage. I mean how can you not love that thing? It’s all cute and puffy and mine is cuddly. After I was done, I went to get Puffy’s water and food and put them in front of the bed. I had a flat screen television in here, which wasn’t something I’d complain about. I could go and sit on the roof from my room, which would be a good way to sneak out at night. I took a cigarette and went to sit on the roof thinking of this week. Monday, Georgie(My best friend) and I trashed the mall by throwing toilet paper everywhere and ringing the fire alarm, this was the incident that got me here. I took a minute to think about Georgie, her mother immediately sent her to boarding school in England two days after. Damn, I’d miss her; she was almost my other half. We’d known each other since kindergarten when I slapped her brother in the face and she laughed at him with me. We completed each other’s sentence. I’d miss that little red head ball of energy. After finishing my smoke, I headed back inside. About 3 minutes after I was almost asleep, Arden came busting into my room panicking. “LIZZY. LIZ WAKE UP!” I mumbled something that sounded like “shove a stick up your arse I’m trying to sleep” He’s left the room shrugging and laughing to himself. God I hated him sometimes I mean it’s 2 in the morning.
I woke up in panic, WHY THE HELL WERE THERE A ROOSTER KOKADOOLING? Why was my room pink not orange? I slowly realized where I was. When I glanced at the alarm clock, it was 7 o’clock. Oh god, no point in going back to sleep. I straightened my hair, took high waisted shorts, a bustier and put on my white converse while applying my make-up. I was used to multi-task this stuff since Dad made me go to so many “important” events. When I got down stairs probably looking mad, Arden shrugged and said with a smirk “You wouldn’t listen to me last night” I ignored him and grabbed freshly made pancakes that Lindsey was making. “Oh so you decided to pick up eggs with Jake after all” she smirked winking at me. “God ok, I’ll do it if you insist. Who is that Jake kid anyway? Do you like worship him or something?” I asked my tone kind of more grumpy then I wanted it to be. Oops. “God Liz I just want you to make friends.” Besides, he’s only a year older then you.”
Great, not only Georgie, but now my aunt tried to hook me up.
“Linds, Sorry I’m not up for dating.” I said shrugging it off.
After eating my pancakes, I went outside to do roller derby a bit, asides from basketball, derby was my favorite sport, I used to the best Jammer in Cali, but since I had to quit, that bitch Katrine, replaced me. Oh well, Lindsey probably knows a team around here since she introduced me to derby 6 years ago. It was so hot outside, I saw that guy, who might I add wasn’t ugly, bed head dirty blonde hair, intense blue eye, dimples and shirtless in the yard. Damn it Liz, Stop starring at his abs. “Hey what are you doing here? It’s not your property!” I yelled at him, braking right in front of him. I kind of missed the ground and I fell face first onto his abs. Shit Liz, way to go. He laughed and smirked “See something you enjoy? OH you must be Lizzy, Lindsey was so excited for you to come!” he laughed again, damn it Liz stop drooling! “I’m Jake,” he said, holding his hand out. My stomach started making summersaults I’m pretty sure. Damn it Lizzy, what the hell is wrong with you, he’s just a jerk probably.
I shook his hand. Now at least, I knew why my aunt almost worships him...
