"Stop tickling me!" I shrieked at Dyl while the clients looked at us.
Lindsey owned a retro style restaurant and she got me to be a waitress. It's been a week since I've started working. The restaurant had light blue wall, a B&W checkered floor and retro tables. I didn't argue since I could use the money and we served in derbies. Dylan, well, he was a cashier, stuck in a restaurant with only girl workers. We soon became best friends.
"Well, will you go tonight? I'll stop if you-" "Shut up Dylan, I'll make sure she goes. Go back to work before you scare the customers away!" Linds interrupted him and hit the poor guy with the apron before going back into the kitchen. I grabbed two trays and went away while sticking my tongue out at Dyl.
Dylan threw a big campfire every year and he wanted me to come. Obviously Lindsey had practically forced me to go. So I now was at Dylan's place getting ready and helping him prepare the drinks.
"It's not enough that you see me as a waitress, I now have to be a bartender" I rolled my eyes at him even thought he couldn't see me since I was in is bathroom. I quickly dressed in shorts and a black bustier with a crochet cardigan paired with black converses. Dylan came in just as I was pulling my hair into a messy bun, he poked me in the ribs and I dropped my rubber band. I gave him a friendly push while re-attempting my bun.
Everyone was having fun at the party dancing, eating and roasting marshmallows', whilst I was serving the drinks with Dylan. I kept poking him so that he would notice how bored I was. Suddenly Jake arrived , I hid under the counter before he could see me. He may have been hot but from what small moments I had with him, i knew enough to know that he was a huge ass and was a player. Dylan didn't tell me otherwise either. He shot me a funny look but then went on to serve Jake. "Have you seen Lizzie around?" I heard Jake ask. "She is-" i quickly stepped on the poor guy's foot. "She is supposed to be here, but I don't know where she is." Dylan said while discreetly holding his foot. "Oh- it's fine" Jake said and walked away with his drink. My best friend gave me a look that meant he was gone and I quickly got out, adjusting my shorts. Dylan raised his eyebrows at me, "What was THAT about?" "Stepping on your foot? Oh honey, you should learn to shut up." I played innocent. "No not that, but damn that hurt! I meant hiding under the bar." He punched me playfully before continuing, "but why are you hiding from Jake?" "I, well, I- wait Jake? Oh I must have mistaken him for my ex!" I lied, not wanting to tell him what Jake had done to me. "Heh! Don't play stupid Liz, you came here from Cali it's been two weeks. I doubt you've had time to make a boyfriend and yet dump him." Dylan said not wanting to give it up after all.
Some drunk guy randomly arrived at that moment. Praise the drunk! "Heyyy girly how about twenty for a night?" He slurred while winking at me. He smelled like beer and piss. Ew. Forget i ever said to praise the drunk, fuck the drunks. Ok don't fuck them. Just don't give a fuck about them. Dylan was ready to practically jump on him. "Honey, if you want me, you need more than money. Try to get a little dignity and a bit more respect, you could really use some." I gave him a deadly look, but apparently he found new eye candy and he was gone while I was talking. Yes respect a lot more of it please. Dylan shot a concerned look at me, "God Liz, see why I had you on bar duty? Imagine what could of happened if you'd been there!" he pointed to the crowd, referring to it as 'there'. I ninja style threw Dylan on the ground, some people watching us laughed. "Dylan, honey, i hate to disappoint you but my dad 'punished' me for a year and made me do MMA fighting, I know very well how to defend myself." I smirked at him, he looked terrified "Perhaps if you ever need me to defend you, I will. Seeing how well you managed my surprise attack." This just made people laugh even more. I shot my hand out to the poor guy to help him up. He refused and brushed himself up. Ugh. Men and their egos. I was honestly getting bored by this party. It was nothing like the parties in Cali. "I'm off bar duty Dylan, it's boring. I'll probably be in your room!" I said without waiting for an answer.
After getting in Dylan's room, I threw on a pair of joggings and a tank top. I decided to log into Skype. Noticing that Georgie was on, I immediately pressed the video call button. "LINDSEY!! It is hell here help me!!!" She was lying in bed. "Come on, it can't be THAT bad. Can it?" I laughed. Georgie always was a tad bit dramatic. "IT IS! She shoved a grey blazer, knee length white socks, a skirt that went up to her feet and a white blouse. It was THAT bad. "I have to wear this until I go to bed!" She moaned, hiding her face in her pillow. "George, I will find a way to get you out of there. I promise." I actually really sympathized with her right now since my dad sent me to a boarding school too once. "Oh god please Liz WORK YOUR MAGIC! You got yourself out of a place like this, now you can- wait, your room there is dark blue?" She almost choked on her drink, knowing i hated blue. "Georgie, you're so dumb sometimes. I really want to hit my head in the wall. We've already video chatted from my room, it's orange remember? I'm at Dylan's. And believe me, I've already told him about the color of his room. Wait- Did you sneak alcohol? Your neck is red. GEORGIE GURL I'M SO PROUD OF YOU!" I said, my eyes almost running away from my head. "Shut up! The walls aren't that thick here! Oh and how is Arden doing?" She asked just trying to look curious, but truth is, she liked Arden. It was easy to tell. "He's partying down there," i said pointing out the window, "it is so not Cali here. The parties are so boring! Oh, and he broke up with Jane yesterday, she was caught cheating. Well someone snapped a picture of her cheating at least. It was all over Facebook." I said, rolling my eyes. "Shit, Georgie listen I have to go. I think Arden is fighting with some guy outside. I'll Skype you sometime else." I said practically hanging up in her face and ran down stairs.
My jaw dropped. My brother wasn't just fighting with anyone, he was fighting with Luke. How the hell did he get here? While Dylan was trying to separate them, Arden was more than pissed off. I decided now as time to yell it out. "LUKE WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING HERE?!? We all thought you were dead!" I paused only to wipe my tears. "I almost took my life because of you. After loosing mom, did you think this, whatever you were doing, is okay? You're such a fucking selfish bastard Luke. You only ever cared about yourself, fuck you." I started running away. Dylan was following me but I didn't bother, I was so hurt right now, I needed time to let whatever happened down there with my twin sink in.
I locked myself in the bathroom. Luke is my twin, he ran away 3 years ago and we gave up searching for him after a year and a half. I thought he was dead, hell, we all thought he was. I was so depressed that i nearly cut myself to death, Arden found me passed out on the bathroom floor. Since then, Arden has always been overprotective over me. We held each other together.
*Flashback*
"ELIZABETH OPEN THIS DOOR RIGHT NOW!" A distant voice yelled, I was too weak to answer, and i didn't want to. I let out a loud sob. I couldn't take it anymore, the pain. Looking at the blood and blade next to me, I gave out a wicked smirk, it would finally end. "LIZ OPEN THIS DOOR RIGHT NOW OR I WILL BREAK IT" Arden yelled again, chocking a sob. It was barely audible to me since my body was giving out on me. The numbness wrapped over me, like wings wrapping around a broken angel. The last thing I remember was Arden busting through the door.
*Back to present*
I saw a razor on the sink and decided that i would give Luke the same hell he gave me. I'd disappear. He is going to pay for what he did. A maniac laugh escaped my mouth, turning back into the same wicked smile I gave 2 and a half years ago.
Sorry for the late upload guys. I hope it's good enough c: x
