The sun had already set down and darkness had envolped the entire land but the city of Ayodhya was glowing brightly as gold radiating happiness in its shine. It was a great day for the people of Ayodhya. The city was overflowing with joy since it was the day of return of their long gone princes and princess. Everywhere in the palace was decorated in a grand manner other than a place. It was Lakshman and Urmila's chamber. The trio entered the city. They were welcomed warmly by the people of Ayodhya. At last they entered the palace after 14 long years. There was a childish joy in Ram, Lakshman and Sita's face as they recalled their happy moments in the palace. Suddenly Lakshman's face brightened as he caught the sight of a huge painting placed at a corner. It was painted by him and gifted to his Mila on their first wedding anniversary. A series of events flooded in his mind - from their first meet, their cute fights, their marriage, their romantic moments and at last their separation. He still remembered his wife standing as still as a statue at the time of his departure. Now he can no longer wait to see his Mila. His eyes wandered hopefully to catch a glimpse of her. No one even talked of her as everyone were busy with Ram and Sita. Only queen Sumitra noticed the anxiety of her son and directed him towards his chambers. His heart was thumping loudly as he opened the heavy door of his chamber. The room was completely filled with darkness so he lighted a small lamp and in its dim light examined his chamber. He saw the art pieces of his wife scattered here and there. He went to his bed and called out slowly MILA.... He found her to be nowhere. BUT WHERE WAS HIS MILA?? He saw her sleeping peacefully on the cold marble floor gripping his angavasthra tightly close to her heart. He sat down and dropped a few tears which fell straight into Urmila's cheeks. Immediately she woke up from her sweet dreams and came back into the reality. Tears brimmed in her eyes as she saw her husband back after 14 years. Both of them did not utter a word. They just kept observing the changes in each other. Lakshman was no longer a carefree teenager . The forest has tamed him into a rough and tough man. Suddenly Urmila noticed a deep scar in his chest created by the divine Arrow of Indhrajit. She softly caressed the wound. He let out a sharp cry frightening her. She said "Sorry" and regretted her action and punched him hard noticing the naughty gleam in his eyes. They hugged each other so closely as if there was no tomorrow and the sun smiled warmly witnessing their reunion.
