I jolted awake. I shivered, remembering the... the creature. I was so glad It was a dream. I looked at the clock and sighed. Time for school. I quickly dressed and packed my bag. I walked into the living room to greet Mom. She wasn't there.  I went upstairs. It looked like she was in bed. "Bye Mom!" I said. then I ran to my bike and rode to school. The cold wind brushed against my face, making my eyes water. I smiled at the speed I was going. The school slowly came into sight.

I came home, sweating. It was hotter in the afternoon than it was in the morning. "Mom! I'm home!" I shouted. No answer. I walked throughout the whole house. My voice echoed, bouncing off each empty wall. Finally, I went upstairs. Mom's room. The same lump in the bed as before. How come she was still in bed!? I ran over to the bedside. Her face was covered under the bed. I lifted up the covers and gasped. She was gone.
