“No. No! This isn't happening!” I grab my short green hair and tug slightly, shaking my head. “Get out, Alice. Get out!” I keep screaming at Alice but it's no use. After several minutes of trying to force Alice away, I give up. I let go of my hair and look into my mirror. I look long and hard at my short, bright green hair and electric blue eyes. My usually pale complexion is flushed a bright scarlet. My body looks as if it hasn't seen food in months, let alone tasted it. I look down and groan. “Alice, stop. I'm going to school today. What's wrong with you?” No reply. I sight and head out of the bathroom.
The sun reflecting off of the freshly fallen snow is gorgeous. The air, refreshing my throat with every breath I take. The tree bark against my back rough but oddly comforting. It was my favorite spot, and it makes everything so much better. The pages of the book I'm reading flutter in the wind and it causes me to look up and for a split second time seemed to slow to a stop. Sound dissipated into thin air. Movement practically stilled. All because I saw him. In that very instant Jayden knew exactly why Alice didn't want her to go to school that day. Because everything in Jayden world was about to change.
He was absolutely stunning. His hair was a mixture between light and dark chocolate. His eyes were a dark amber with fleck of gold thrown in to sweeten the deal. He had a smile that was wide and sweet, the way a smile was supposed to be constructed. He was tall, lean and muscular, but not in an overbearing way. Not in a way that would immediately set off alarms or intimidate you. When my sense of time and reality came back to me he was almost across the courtyard. I rush to pack up my things and I sprint towards him. I stop just behind him and tap on his shoulder. He turns around and looks at me puzzled. “H-hi.. I'm Jayden.” I state shyly, sticking my hand out in front of my body. He looks down at it for a second, looks back up at me and smiles. “I'm Jacob.” He replies, grabbing my hand to shake it. I smile back and start talking to him. About his interests, his family, his classes. Anything I could. I just couldn't seem to get enough of him. Several minutes passed and she came to find out quite a few things about him. Jacob was 18. His parents died when he was 12 and up until about a month ago he lived with his grandmother. He told me however that she died and hes now living on his own. It was perfect. He was perfect. We finally exchanged numbers and parted ways.
The rest of the that day was astonishing. My mind kept replaying what happened. And what would come to happen.
