The Begining of Our Friendship
I had a friend named Selene. We were inseparable like two peas in a pod or in other words we were best friends. Is not that we spread apart it’s that we just couldn’t be friends anymore. It was kind of hard hanging on to her and I had to let her go.
I can still remember the day we met. Four years ago when we were in second grade, it was both our first day at the school. Since Amanda Riley and Selene Ramsey have the same first letter of our last name, we got to sit next to each. Sometimes when I get the chance I stand in the second grade room we first met in. My younger sister is now in that classroom I hope that everyday she will find a girl like her. Selene and I both had the same color folders and matching shoes. The things any second graders would find as the first signs of friendship. Walking around the classroom I see the two chairs we had carved little hearts on and the two desks which had been drawn on with sharpies that the janitors could never get out. Also I would always remember how we would think that the janitors were the ones stealing the large, round pencils we were given. Another thing I enjoyed was how we were the only two girls in our class who would pay tag with the boys, despite the fact that we were both true girly girls.
Then of course after school when our mothers picked us up we would both beg for a “play date” and we would whine and whine until finely one of our parents would give in. After school was a great time. Her family was very rich and had a huge house, which was built about twenty years ago, so we would spend the days searching her home for secret passage ways. My home on the other hand was a middle class sized home on a “lake” or just a canal as what we called them in Florida. There we would ride our mini three wheeled scooters with my mother along the lake. Sometimes we would bring my once very young Golden retriever puppy. That was how we spent the first two or three months knowing each other. It was not until December around Christmas time where our families became very close and that we were what they
