Christmas with Selene
When finally Christmas morning came I run downstairs wake my parents up at 7 in the morning though both of us got any sort of sleep and drag them half asleep to the Christmas tree. I grabbed all the presents marked as Amanda and I beginning tearing the wrapping. All I could remember was that I got some little plastic animals and some candy. Afterwards we had some Belgian waffles and whipped cream. Then it was off to Selene’s home.
I was very excited to see Selene for the first time in a week since it was winter break. We pulled up to Selene’s luxurious mansion that was adorned with sparkling lights and yards of garland. Her lawn could be descried as a winter wonderland. Even though it was Florida and 90 degrees, the décor gave me the same feeling of rolling in a fresh layer of snow every Christmas morning. My little sister gave me a nudge to continue up to pathway of Selene’s castle. The next few hours were amazing; I remember exchanging gifts and receiving a matching dress with Selene. The dress was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. Selene and I ran upstairs giggling and changing into our red velvet dresses.
When it came to dinner, Selene’s family had made a fancy meal, of food that though I can’t remember did not appease an eight year old. Instead of sitting with the parents and my sister we were allowed to sit on her Caribbean style back patio. We both just ended up giggling and playing with our food. We later just pigged out on candy canes and apple pie and we both fell asleep on her couch. Little did we know that this Christmas would bring us so much closer.
