Jack~
As soon as he walked in he saw him.
How could he not? Cryss's student picture alone was enough to make Jack want croon his heart out. Luckily, Jack was very good at keeping his thoughts to himself, as one should be.
Unfortunately, he had a terrible poker face, so a very small blush came up to torture Jack on his cheeks. Cryss sat at his new desk reading a very large book, while wearing prescription reading glasses. And they looked so very cute on him.
Is he sitting where I think he's sitting...? Oh yes. He was. Cryss Evans now occupied the pre-vacant seat next to Jack Winter. Jack thought about sitting at a different desk than his assigned one, but that would just be stupid. Every desk had been assigned to someone, except for the seat next to his own. And now, even that was gone. Jack silently swore to himself that he would someday make Cryss pay. For whatever reason.
Jack's thoughts were interrupted by a soft voice. "You gonna sit anytime soon?"
He looked down and found that his feet had automatically taken him to his desk... and his new desk buddy. This embarrassed him, and he came up with a lame excuse. "Oh, I don't sit here."
Cryss looked up from his book and stared at Jack through the top rim of his glasses, making Jack's heart do a somersault.
"Then I must've been mistaken. Jack Winter is supposed to sit next to me. I assumed you were him when the guy at the door said, 'Hey Jack, wassup?'" And eyebrow was lifted on Cryss's perfect face.
"Oh." Said Jack, completely dumbfounded. "Did I answer him?"
"No, it looked like you were in some kind of trance, and you completely ignored him. Now here you are, talking to me."
"Here I am." Jack confirmed.
"Yeah. Wassup?"
"Wassup." Jack answered back. Then, out of nowhere, the two fist-bumped each other, as it was the perfectly normal thing to do when you meet a new classmate. Wasn't it?
Jack sat down with ease. "You're alright, man. As long as you're studying doesn't interfere with my precious sleeping."
"You sleep during class? How cliché." That was the second time Jack heard that phrase being said towards him. He figured he'd find out why people kept saying it.
"What's so cliché about it? Sometimes I'm not able to sleep at night how I want to." Cough cough, hint hint, night hunting and fullmoon transformations.
"Nothing. You just look like one of those guys."
"What do you mean, one of those guys?"
"Oh, you know."
"Actually, I don't."
Jack waited for an answer, but at that moment, his teacher, Ms. SinClair, walked in and placed her purse beside her desk at the front of the room. "Take a seat, please. Everyone." Her voice was reaching a dangerous level, and everyone knew that no one wanted to make her mad. That's when the beast came out.
Which Jack thought was kind of funny. Since he knew that a beast might actually come out, seeing as how his teacher was part of his pack. She was a Delta, but a very fierce one, nonetheless. Ms. Olive SinClair looked like your average thirty-something year old teacher, but she was obviously much more than that. Although Jack outranked her, he was still a little scared of what she might do if he made her yell at him in front of his class.
Ms. SinClair settled into her chair, and started to take attendance. Other than saying his automatic "here" when his name was called, Jack didn't say anything at all. Then Cryss's name was called, last but not least.
