"What happened out there??"

*Tony's POV*

I stared at Elli, my eyes wide. Did she think I did this on purpose? Sabrina was my freaking girlfriend for goodness sake! I lo-liked her too much to do that!

Shaking my head, I turned back to Elli, and put both hands in the air. "Before I start, I want to say one thing. I wouldn't hurt anyone, horse or human, espically not someone I like, maybe even love."

Elli narrowed her eyes, and clasped her hands together, sitting her chin on top. "Go on." Her voice dripped with coldness, and her eyes where like daggers, shooting straight through my heart.

Thinking my words through carefully, I began slowly, my voice a tad shaky. "We where breezing the horses for a couple of laps. They both finished well bellow the time limit we set for them, so we thought we would let them out for a little race like think, just long enough to go down the backstretch of the track. So we started out, both of us holding the horses back so it wasn't complee race speed. But Demetri pulled away from Sabrina's control, and she couldn't see to regain the control of him. I watch as Fly slowed easily under my touch, but Sabrina was fighting the entire time with Demetri, even after we finished our little race. I stopped Fly completely, so maybe Demetri would slow down after he realized Fly was gone behind him."

"Why didn't you go after her?" Elli interupted in the middle of my story.

I narrowed my eyes into thin little slits. "For one, you know Demetri is way faster than Fly on straight stretches, and faster than her on mud. Also, Sabrina is the more experienced jockey, I just started, so she would have usually been able to keep control of him. But no kidding, Demetri was going to fastest I have ever seen him go, and I'm not sure why."

"Anyway," I contuined. "back to the story. So they where nearing the turn, and I saw Sabrina try a cross country move. She tried to halfhalt him, which slowed him a bit, but as he was trying to regain his footing, he slipped on the turn, and crashed into the side fence, sending Sabrina flying into the ground." I gulped at the memory, and seeing the terror in her green eyes right before she hit the ground.

"So basically what you are telling me is," Elli started, her voice colder than before. "is that you challenged her to race, Demetri got out of control because you raced them both too hard, and then didn't go after her when she was in trouble. "

I stared at her, my mouth wide open in plain shock.

"You thought that Demetri would do better than you in the races, so you hurt his jockey so he wouldn't be able to race anymore. " Elli contuined, getting up from her chair. "You really are sick Tony, I knew it from the day Cobalt hurt Moore."

Flashback (Horse's third person POV)

Moore galloped around the pasture, her pretty black and grey mane flying out behind her like a curtain in the warm summer wind. She turned back around, and frisked past her friend Evening Star, who watched after the pretty little mare with protective eyes.

Suddenly, Cobalt came lumbering over to the group of peaceful horses, and dropped his head to graze. Only he wasn't really just grazing. His dark eyes flicked upward toward the pretty little mare, as she frisked by him, acting like a newborn coming to the pasture for the first time. He quietly raised his head, and made his way over to the mare, who had now stopped, and was nibbling at some sweet clover.

He nipped at her back in a herding motion, and circled around her, claiming her, and preparing to fight anyone who wanted to challenge him.

Only this time, no other stallion challenged him, the mare did.
