A Girl in Love

1. Touchdown

This is it. The start of my new career. My first day of work ever since I've resigned from my previous job. Expectations? Hmmm..nothing much but I'm hoping I'll be able to meet my other half here. Sabi nga nila yung "the one".

First and foremost, let me introduce myself. I am Maria Cadence Cabe. Aria to my family and Caddie to my friends. 22 years old. Graduate of BS Accountancy but not CPA. I have three siblings namely: Kaila Felice, our eldest, Lucas Creed, second, and Noah Cash, the youngest in our family. Ang Papa ko ay si Mr. Jackson Cabe, a retired banker and my Mom, Isabel Ibay, is a freelance realtor. Both my youngest and eldest sibling work as a Nurse. Si kuya naman isang software developer. Kung ako naman ang tatanungin dati akong Audit Examiner but right now I'm going to be an Analyst dito sa Deloitte Bank Philippines branch. I've always wanted to work in an international company and I guess, eto na yun.

Habang papasok ako ng elevator, may isang guy na humabol.

" Hold Please"

And like every good person there is I pressed the button kaso nga lang close yung napindot ko.

"Omg! Sorry. Di ko sadya." I said apologizing while the guy enters the lift.

I've got no response from him. No reaction si kuya. Then upon closing of the door, we both pressed 8 in the panel.

"Sorry" I muttered.

Still NR. Grabe masyadong dinidibdib ni kuya ang don't talk to stranger rule. I just hope na we're not on the same department dahil ayoko makasalamuha ang mga taong NR. Ayoko pa naman sa lahat yung di ako pinapansin or kinakausap dahil nagmumukha akong tanga. Thank God its still early at kami pa lang ang tao dito sa elev dahil kung hindi..ewan na lang.

When we arrived at the 8th floor, I looked around para sana may mapagtanungan ako kaya lang ang malas. Wala ng ibang tao kundi itong si boy NR at ako.

"Quarter to 7 palang naman. Later na lang ako magtatanong. Cr muna ako para mag ayos" kausap ko sa sarili ko habang papasok ng assigned department ko.

Lumipas ang ilang minuto na wala pa din akong napapansin na ibang tao bukod sa amin. Nakakangalay na din ang tumambay sa cr dahil sa suot kong heels ngayon.

"No choice na. Need ko na talaga magtanong kung san pwede maghintay. Utang na loob kuya kausapin mo sana ako" piping usal ko habang nilalapitan itong si boy NR.

"Excuse me. I'm the newly hire, Cadence Cabe. Just wondering where can I wait for Mam Rose?" tanong ko while extending my hand for a handshake.

"Just sit anywhere you like. Wala pa naman yung mga taong nakaupo dyan" he answered poker face.

"A..okay. Sige thank you" sabay irap na sagot ko. Antipatikong yun. Ni hindi man lang inabot yung kamay ko.

"Kala mo kung sinong gwapo. Hmp! Feeling ha."

" Thank you ma'am. I'm looking forward to working with you for the coming years. Thank you for this chance" I smiled after my 1 hour orientation with the admin boss.

"You're welcome, Cadence. You deserve the spot and I hope you'll enjoy working with us"

"I'll be glad working with you" "except for that a-hole" bulong na dagdag ko.

"Come again iha? You were saying something?"

"None mam. Let's go na po?."

"Okay. I'll tour you to the whole department then introduce you to everyone. We have 35 persons here in Global market. 15 in settlement unit, 15 in reconciliation and 5 in admin, most of them are officers with 1 secretary."
