What were you taught in school was the largest state in the USA? I seem to recall having been taught, as many others do, that California was the largest state in the U.S. Now you will find that the largest state is actually Alaska and if you look on any map, you will see that that is true, clear as day, as Alaska is practically half the size of the entire continental U.S.! Some say they definitely remember Alaska being much smaller on the maps than it is now. How do you remember it?
