Holden's p.o.v.
I'm leaning against my locker with my arms crossed. My best friend and beta, Austin Melgren is standing right beside me. Our conversation consists of the football game this Friday and the party we're throwing afterwards.
Before I can respond to a question Austin just asked me, I spot my ex-mate Laya walking toward my direction. Her honey brown, shiny, curled hair bounce as she walks in a sexy way.
I quickly shake my head. I rejected her, I shouldn't be thinking this way. My fist suddenly clench, as my thoughts and wolf fight about what to think of Laya.
A smirk appears on my face as a devious plan forms in my head. It would surely shut my wolf up and keep my mind satisfied.
Just as Laya's about to past me, I stick my foot out and trip her. Tingles shoot through my foot and spread. I frown at my body's reaction.
Her books fall out of her arms and she lands on the ground with a thud. The whole hallway stops whatever they're doing and directs their stare at Laya.
Austin is the first one to laugh which gets everyone to follows suit.
"Hey Laya !" Austin shouts to get Laya's attention. She turns around. "Maybe you should look at where you're walking next time."
I notice that she's taking long to get up so I encourage her. "Get out of my sight. I don't want to see you or your hideous face." I hiss at Laya.
She quickly picks up her books but she doesn't leave right away. A stern gaze meets mine.
"Do you always have to act so immature? Maybe you should find a better way of embarrassing me instead of doing the old classic trip. It gets pretty old." She says with narrowed eyes. Without another word, she walks away to whatever class she has next.
"She better not come to my party this Friday." I hiss, feeling my begin to boil at her words. I slam my locker and walk the direction to my class.
"We'll get her back." Austin shouts. I don't turn around though. I'm to angry at Laya to think straight about anything. I only fix my gaze ahead of me at the glossy tiled floors and beside lockers at each side of the hall as I keep walking.
"You shouldn't hurt your mate like that. You'll regret it one day." A familiar voice says, stopping me in my tracks. I turn around, my anger still boiling but curious as to what the owner of the voice has to say.
Standing in my only way of getting to my classroom is Camilla Moon.
We have very few witches in our school. Actually it's surprising that we actually have witches in our school. We had a thing last year. She was hot, The only reason why I hooked up with her in the first place. She could also perform magic. Something that could help me cheat on tests. I broke it off though, I didn't need her anymore and she became to clingy. Luckily she got the hint quickly. After that we haven't talked since; until now.
She had platinum blond hair with a heart shaped face and the bluest eyes you could ever meet.
"It's going to cost you." I tell her .
"What?" A puzzled look is placed on her face.
"It's gonna cost you if you want to hook up again. The first time is always free but the second time cost you." I inform her. Now it's my turn to have a puzzled look as she shakes her head and laughs.
"It always has to be about you, doesn't it?"
I wink at her. "It's not my fault everyone loves me."
"The world doesn't revolve around you, Holden. I-"
"Nuh uh. Alpha." I remind her. My father, the current alpha wanted me to meet my mate first before I became alpha. It's been 6 months and he believes the shit I tell him. He doesn't know I have met my mate already and he doesn't need to know. But he finally got fed up and decided that I should be alpha in the next month. I've been telling people to call me alpha now.
"Alpha, what your doing to your mate is wrong."
"What mate?"
"I know your mate is Laya. The whole school knows."
"Obviously. I rejected her in front of the whole school." I take a step to pass her but she moves to block me. I may be taller than her but her eyes can make her look like the most intimidating person. "Move Camilla."
"Are you proud of what you did." A look of disbelief passes her face."Why'd you reject her?" Suddenly changing the subject. Obviously she didn't want to listen to me brag about how I rejected my own mate.
"If I tell you, will you move?" She nods her head. I roll my eyes. Of coarse it would.
"Fine then," I unamusingly say. " One: she's ugly. Doesn't meet my standards. 2: she' not worthy to be my mate and 3. I don't want a mate. I'm capable of ruling alone. I've got my good looks, my charm, and I'm going to be alpha." I give a charming smile, followed by a wink.
"Rejection has consequences alpha."
"Not for me. Now move." She shakes her head and stands her ground. "I told you the reason why."
I hadn't realized the hallway was empty and the bell had rung. If I was late for another class, my father would not be happy.
"I don't have time for whatever game your playing Camilla." I push her aside and walk quickly to my class.
"You will regret rejecting her." She's far away from me now but with the amount of distance between us, she could've sounded like she was right beside me.
I shake my head and walk into the classroom, hoping I won't get in trouble.
I'm thinking about making this book mostly in Beau's perspective.
