Chapter 2

Dixon
I stood up from just getting kneed in the balls. I looked out the kitchen window and my mate was sitting on a bench crying.

"You okay Dixon?"

"Yeah but I don't think she is. What's her full name?"

"Primrose Rae Gordon. She's not taking the parent thing well. Her mom was like her best friend. A daughter and mom have a special relationship. It was broken last night. Along with the fact her dad is dead."

"How are you taking it, they were your parents too."

He shrugged.

"I think Prim needs you more than she needs me. She'll warm up to you, give her time. Remember she is an opinionated, hardheaded, girl."

I snickered and walked outside. When I got to the bench and sat I could see her shaking. I rapped my arms around her for comfort. Of course she tried to fight it but eventually gave up and relaxed next to me. Her sniffles broke my heart but all I knew to do was sit with her.

She eventually stopped crying and we just sat there.

"Prim, why didn't you tell me?"

She shrugged and scooted closer to me as a gust of wind blew. I loved that she liked being close to me physically but I think she hates talking about he feelings.

It was getting late and Prim and my stomach growled at the same time. She giggled when she heard mine. It was music to my ears.

"Let's go get something to eat."

"Okay."

She stood first and grabbed her phone from her back pocket.

"What time is it?"

"7:18"

I nodded and stood next to her. I was 6'8" while she was around 5'4".

"What do you have in the house?"

"Let's go check, the pack hasn't eatin everything yet. I think we have a head start honestly."

We walked to the house and got inside when she looked in the refrigerator.

"We have left over pizza, chicken, and biscuits and gravy"

"How about I make something and you sit right here and look pretty."

I lifted and sat her on the counter. She was now eye level with me, and I so badly wanted to kiss her. She looked away in embarrassment. She thought the same exact thing.

I made us some homemade omelets and we ate them in silence. She had also not tried to move from where I sat her on the counter.

After we are I saw her yawn and rub her eyes out of the corner of my eye.

"You ready for bed?"

"Yea.. Where are you sleeping?"

"With you."

I watched her face whiten. The effect I just had on her made my wolf crave her more. She jumped off the counter and walked away from where I was. I followed her up the stairs and into her room. I laid on her bed and she changed.

"You can sleep in here I'm going to the spare room down the hall."

I was in front of her in a spit second. I shut and locked her door, I backed her to the wall across the room. I could hear the pounding of her heart as she hit the wall. Touching her face with my hand, she flinched as if I were to hurt her.

"I will sleep next to you tonight and every night to come till death. I'm not very happy you just flinched away from me, but I will not ever hurt you. Remember that."

I backed away from her and to the bathroom. My eyes were a deep shade of red. I must have scared her.

"Baby, I'm sorry if I scared you. My wolf thought you were..."

I stopped dead in my tracks. Primrose was laying face down on her bed crying. I hated this but I knew I would have to help. Her feeling effected me and the way she felt made me want to do everything in my power to make it better.

I sat next to her and rubbed her back.

"Baby, will you talk to me please. I know you hate talking about your feelings but I need to know what your thinking."

She turned over and I wanted to hurt who ever or whatever made her feel this way.

"Prim. Please."

"I miss my parents. And I don't want to leave."

I laid a kiss on the crown of her head, and she looked up at me.

"I'm sorry you have to leave your home and come with me. But I want you to not feel this way. We can come see your pack whenever you want."

She nodded and I laid down next to her. I pulled her close and she didn't even try to fight me this time. She instead snuggled next to me for warmth. We both fell asleep without any interruptions.

Prim
I woke up from the best sleep ever. Then realized I was with Dixon. Let me rephrase that. I was laying under him as he was above me. I put my hand on his perfectly sculpted chest but he didn't budge. Only growled at my attempt to leave him.

"Dixon get off of me. I'm ready to wake up."

"I'm not and your comfortable, so... Go back to bed."

I pushed again and got a grin out of him.

"DEREK!!!!"

My door opened in a split second and saw my brother in fumes.

"OFF. NOW!"

He roared Dixon stood up and stretched. Then out of know where pinned my brother against the wall. My brother huffed and had actually fear in his eyes.

"Never ever, come in here without my consent. Ok."

Derek nodded and Dixon let go of him. He left and Dixon looked at me.

"What the hell Dixon. Damn your a dick."

"Just because I have one doesn't mean I am one."

I rolled my eye and got off the bed. I went to the bathroom when Dixon stood behind me.

"I'm sorry that I pinned your brother against a wall, but I'm not sorry for why I did it. He interrupted my mate and me sleeping. My wolf didn't enjoy that."

I nodded and turned to leave but he grabbed my wrist and pulled me into him. Again kissing the crown of my head. What is with him and affection.
