It's Thursday afternoon. The house is silent - save for the sound my fingers make against my keyboard. The tapping sound starts to take on the form of a peculiar beat. Tap-tap-backspace-backspace-backspace-backspace-tap......tap-tap-backspace.
My Mum is at work and I stand up to get a glass of ice cold water from my fridge. I drink the water in a few gulps and sit back down with haste. My heart begins to beat rapidly again and my mouth starts trembling. My chest feels heavy, my hands are clammy and I can't concentrate on my school work. Whenever I think about that dream, cold sweat trickles down my back. It felt so real. I actually felt the pain. Now I've got this sinking feeling of dread in my heart. Something bad is going to happen, I can tell. That wasn't just a dream, it was a premonition.
I just can't figure out who it was that tried to kill me. In my dream I saw their face clearly - I'm sure of it. I just can't recall it now. When I try to remember their face I'm met with a fuzzy shadow that conveniently covers my assailant's face.
Tah-tah. The sharp rap on the window startles me and with a shriek, I hop out of my chair. I begin to frantically turn round and round looking for the intruder.
