Dirty Little Secrets [Niall Horan and Harry Styles fanfic]

Chapter 9

**Harry's POV**

"okay, so why do you wanna talk?" I ask Niall and sit on the edge of my bed.

"You know we can't go home with her. I mean, back to Portland." he says and I look confused at Niall.

"what do you mean? Why can't I go home?"

"Do you want Jess to have a happy life?"

"Yes, of course! But why can't I go home?"

"Harry, they will look for you. You're a werewolf and every full moon you will turn. You could hurt Jess if she is near you!" he raises his voice but tries to stay quiet. I look with widen eyes at him and his eyes are golden. "Do you think I want to go without Jess!? No! I do this for her safety, for gods sake!"

"What about my family? They think I'm dead!"

 "Do you really think Zayn, Liam and Louis are that stupid? They compelled the whole city! They think you're on vacation or something. But if you like it or not, you can't come back to Portland." He snaps.

"SHE IS MY BEST FRIEND! THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT! THESE PEOPLE ARE YOUR FRIENDS! THEY ARE DOING THIS TO HER AND YOU ARE BLAMING ME SO YOU TAKE HER AWAY FROM ME! SHE IS THE ONLY THING I CARE ABOUT RIGHT NOW!" I shout and throw my hands in the air out frustration. Niall's eyes turn a darker shade of gold and he walk closer to me.

"Why do you think that I want this? I care as much as you care about her but I do this because I want her to have a normal life. Getting married, having kids and be happy. That is not going to happen if we stay with her. She will be in danger all the time because we are there and they are looking for us. Jessmine is the last thing they will worry about. I can make her forget this all in only a second" he says calm and his eyes turn blue again. I don't want to lose Jess. I care too much about  her but I also want that she is save and that she has a happy life. I nod and give him a small smile. I know he is right but I don't want to admit it. "I'll call Jess so we can tell her"

"Sure.." I mumble angry and walk with Niall to the stairs. I sigh and lean against the wall. This is not going to end good because I know how Jess is.

"JESS!!!" Niall shouts and within seconds I hear footsteps. I look at my feet as I hear her coming down the stairs.

"Is everything alright?" Jess asks worried but none of us answers her question. Everything is NOT alright! Niall is about to tell you that we'll never see each other again, what is alright about that!!! I look up at her and she looks at me in hope for an answer. I can't tell her, I can't even look at her. I just shake my head and walk angrily away. "Niall, tell me what's going on!" She raises her voice at him.

"Follow me" he says and than the door shuts.

"Fuck" I mumble and throw the nearest thing at the wall in frustration. The little porcelain cup breaks in peaces as it hits the wall, leaving shards all over the floor. Why do bad things always happen to me! I was happy for the first time in my life but what makes me happy goes away and I can't let her stay because I want her to be happy and not living a life like me right now. She will forget me and all the things we did. The good moments in my life are with her.

"HARRY!!!" The door flies open and Jess runs within. Tears streaming down her face and her hands are shaking. "I...I..don't..." She sobs but stops and runs to me, hugging me tightly. I wrap my arms around her and stroke with my hand over her back. "I don't want you to leave me. Please, come back home with me." She whispers after a few minutes of silence.

"I can't like Niall must have told you" I whisper and let her go. She shakes her head no and starts crying again. A cold breeze hits my skin and that swoosh sound fills the silence. Niall stands beside me and looks at me with an apologetic look.

"You will be in danger if we stay. They're looking for us, Jess." Niall explains but Jess still shakes her head no.

"YOU PROMISED ME TO PROTECT ME AND STAY WITH ME BUT YOU JUST RUN AWAY FOR THE PROBLEM AND THAT PROBLEM IS ME! YOU FUCKING DON'T CARE ABOUT ME AND LEAVE ME ALONE! THOSE PEOPLE RUINED MY LIFE AND TAKE EVERYTHING I CARE ABOUT IN MY LIFE!" she shouts. I know she is right  but we've to. Niall looks at me and I just nod, knowing what he means.

"Jess.." He starts but she walks away from him. 

"GO AWAY!" She shouts hysterical and runs way but run with his speed to her and takes her by her arm. 

"Look at me, Jess. Just look at me." He says calmly and Jess looks up. "Calm down and just listen to me. Remember that we do this for you." She nods slowly and her eyes are locked on his. "Vampires and werewolves are fairy tales, just like in the stories your mother told you when you were little. You are happy and have no worries. Harry moved to Miami when you finished high school and you'll remember the good moments you had with each other. I moved to Canada for my job and changed my number but forgot to tell you, just like Harry. You moved on and work in a little restaurant, trying to save money for a car. You have a normal life like everyone else and forget everything you know about werewolves and vampires.When you're home, you're just back from Europe and you had a wonderful time. When I counted to 3, you'll fall asleep and you'll think this was all a dream. 1....2....3..." Her eyes slowly close and Niall nods at me. "She's compelled. We can bring her to her house and put her in bed but after that, we really have to leave."

"I'll carry her" I say and take her from Niall. Time to say goodbye.
