A/N: This one-shot takes place about 3 years after PLL ends. I have had this in my head for a while, and I'm really excited to share it with all of you!

They say that, "distance makes the heart grow fonder." Aria Montgomery, Emily Fields, Hanna Marin, and Spencer Hastings all remembered his as they went to live separate lives, seeing each other a few times a year, not including endless phone calls, text messages, and video chats. Many things were better this way; reunions were more special, there were more surprises, and most of all, they didn't have to remember the tragedies that they had gone through.

When the four girls found out that, all of this time, Alison had been -A, they knew that they had to leave the town of Rosewood. One of their best friends had been fooling them for years, upon years. Nothing good ever came out of being in their hometown, whether it was long-term, or just a visit.

Sure, all four of them were unadmittedly sad when Alison passed away, but they felt safer. Despite this, though, it was unlikely that any of those four girls would head back to Rosewood anytime soon. Their career paths took them to different places, anyway. Aria, Emily, Spencer, and Hanna missed each other more than anything, but they cherished the moments that they were able to spend together, whenever they were together in person.

Aria and Ezra moved back to Boston. It had been a tough decision to leave her family behind, but ultimately, the couple knew that it was best to get away from the place that haunted them a little bit more everyday. Boston ended up being perfect. They moved to a town just outside of the bigger portion of the city. Aria continued her work as a publisher, before eventually finding a passion in journalism and creative writing. She put both of these to work, writing for the main newspaper in Boston, as well as writing a novel and a few short stories. Ezra continued writing his bestselling books, but also decided to teach at a prestigious high school in the area, realizing that he didn't have any more legal troubles to worry about, when it came to this job. Between all of this, though, was the best part of their lives, and that part was their little girl, now 2 1/2, Daisy Grace.

Emily had the hardest time getting over Alison's death. Yes, she tortured her for years, but you don't just get over your first love. For a while, Emily continued in Rosewood, coaching the swim team at Rosewood High, but eventually, she had to make the decision to leave the weight and burden of the town that she had previously lived in. Emily moved to Texas, and began coaching the swim team at an excellent university there. Emily had many girlfriends, but none really stuck until she was reacquainted with Sabrina. It was kind of out of the blue. Sabrina was down in a nearby town in Texas , visiting family, and she and Emily ran into each other. I suppose the rest is history. It's nothing too serious, but they like each other's company, and that's all either of them need.

Spencer was the first one to leave Rosewood, after everything with Alison blew up. She knew that her friends would leave eventually, so she figured that she might as well go back to Washington DC now, instead of later. Being in Rosewood was too much for her, and she needed room to breathe. Finding out that she was adopted was a slap in the face to her, but finding out that Toby had died crossed the line. Even worse, Spencer found out that Toby had died in a car accident because he was texting her. As soon as the doctors gave her permission, Spencer packed her bags and went to DC. While in DC, Spencer met a few guys, but she was too focused on her career to have a serious relationship. She's only 26, and Spencer figured she had plenty of time for dating, but if she wanted to work her way up in politics, she would have to do it now.

Hanna left Rosewood, and took Caleb with her. They moved back to New York, finding an apartment relatively quickly, a nice one too, combining Hanna and Caleb's money. With the business that Lucas gave her, Hanna decided to make a clothing line where teenage girls could help design clothes that would make them feel confident. Hanna knew what it was like to hate the way you look, so her mission was to make young girls love themselves. Hanna even had a room in he primary building of her business, where she met with girls by appointment, for free to talk to them about confidence, and she let them design a shirt. Hanna and Caleb's relationship got serious very quickly, but Hanna didn't want to move fast, after what had happened last time they moved too quickly. Caleb still had the same job. After about a year and a half of dating, the couple decided to get engaged, and wanting a long engagement, they were just getting married now.
