Chapter 1: 7 years after Sunray's death

Lightning was awaken by a large scream. Her head popped right up and she looked around, trying to locate where the scream came from. "What now?" she muttered as she slowly got up. As she walked to the cave entrance her tail slithered across the cave floor. Dragons were fighting. Lots of dragons were fighting. Actually, the whole tribe was fighting. Lightning huffed fire into the air, and a hush fell over the fighting dragons. The last noise was a pan or plate slamming on a dragons head. Lightning was a bit angry. "Who started this? Who started the fight?" Lightning roared so the whole tried could here her. The words came out crisp and clear threw the warm wind and orange morning sky. A large black and silver scaled dragon, almost like a NightWing but different body shape, spread his wings so the dragons around him would spread out whenever he walked. He strolled towards Lightning with a small grin. He stepped onto the stones that made stairs to the cave ledge. Lightning was the leader of her tribe, as her parents were. Her parents had disappeared when she was six years, and that was the day Sunray died. The black dragon spoke. "Lightning, I think I know who started all this." He eyed the crowd. A small blue dragon, the same type of dragon Lightning was, shivered as the black dragon gazed apon her. He raised a talon and pointed at the blue dragon. "I believe she was the one who did it. Pearl is her name, I belive." She yelped. Lightning stared. "Pearl." Lightning said firmly. "Is this true?" Pearl stretched her wings and flew next to Lightning, landing with a thud. "No! It's not true! He is lying!" She pointed a talon at the black dragon. "Eclipse did it! He started the fight!" A few dragons in the crowd nodded their heads, and others roared, "Eclipse started the fight!" Lightning looked at Eclipse. "What did you do?" She growled as Eclipse fiddled with a pouch. He smiled proudly. "Getting something for you, ma'am." A dark blue dragon in the front yelled after he said that. "More like stealing something from my shop!" he said with a spurt of fire coming out of his nostrils. "What did you steal for me?" Lightning asked with anger in her yellow and red eyes. Her dark red hair drapped over the right side of her eye, but you could tell that the eye underneath was just as furious as the eye showing. Eclipse opened his pouch and took out a pure gold chain necklace. "This." Lightning grabbed the necklace and gave it back to the dragon who Eclipse stole it from. The dragon nodded thank you and flew to his shop. Eclipse looked outraged, and without a word he flew off. Pearl sat there watching the whole thing, not knowing what happened. Lightning growled. "Everyone stop fighting and go do what you must at once!" She yelled so all the dragons could hear. Every dragon went back to doing whatever it was they were doing. Suddenly, a great light shown from the Banshee Mountains. "The second sun is rising." Lightning said. Pearl sat up and followed Lightning into her cave. Pearl watched the sun rise for hours, until all five were up. She didn't move or say a word or eat. After the suns rose, Pearl went hunting. She was stopped by a great force, and was knocked back at the wall, with a gray and black dragons holding her throat.
