Maria walked quickly down the halls, determined to get to her safety post on time. As soon as she turned the corner, the bell rang.

The girl threw her backpack and flute gently against the wall, walking outside and ready to yell at the little demons.

The safeties walked to where they normally go, just like every other day. The little kids ("Demons!" Maria corrected the narrator) piled out, going to either their parents or the bus.

"Walk." Maria said in a bored tone as she watched a kid run. 'He can fall flat on his face for all I care.' She thought.

Maria wanted to get back home, back to her skype friends. Soon enough, all of them were out and Maria was heading back to get her stuff.

She noticed that one of the clasps on her flute case was loose. Thinking she just failed to put it away, Maria gently pushed it back into place, not bothering to check if someone, maybe, broke it?

She walked back to her house, which took about 5 minutes. Maria walked past her dad, and into her room. She set her backpack down and took off her safely belt, throwing it on a chair.

Maria got her phone out, and immediately went onto skype. "Hi" she typed. 3 minutes passed, and still no response.

'Time to do what I do best' She thought and smirked. Maria spammed them with random pics, just like she always did when nobody's alive.

Still no answer. Maria turned her notifications on, and went to her desk. Setting her phone face up besides her, she got a pencil and paper and let her mind decide what she was drawing.

     Buzz

Hi

ALERIA
ALERIA
ALERIA
ALERIA
ALERIA

Maria dropped her pencil, and immediately answered- spammed her friend. She looked around her room, and her eyes landed on the flute case. The same clasp was open.

She decided to check it out, and flipped open the other clasp. She slowly opened the case. Maria put a hand to her mouth, and her heart felt like it leaped out of a 100 story building.

Her flute? Broken and dented. Her feelings? Crushed.

Maria wiped the tears spilling out of her eyes. Her phone buzzed, snapping her out of the trance she was in. She turned her phone on and found 10 notifications from Aleria.

     Another buzz.

Child Bagel
You still there wind?

Maria didn't want to worry her friends.

Yeah lol

Tears threatened to spill once again. Her phone apparently turned off, because it started buzzing like crazy, and turned hot.

Maria dropped her phone and stumbled back, eyes widened in shock. All these notifications said one thing, "Open"

Maria bent down and tapped on it, then before her eyes, a colorful, galaxy-like portal appeared in front of her.

"Go in," A gentle, caring voice spoke. "Go to your friends. They can help you through this"

'Lol what friends?' Maria joked with herself. She looked down at her phone, then the portal. 'Well,' She thought. 'It would be better then my mom killing me.'

Maria could feel butterflies in her stomach, and grabbed her phone, heading into the portal without a thought of what could happen, or the consequences that could come with it.
