*beep beep beep*

Stupid alarm clock! What time is it anyways? I looked at the clock. "Stink!" I exclaimed jumping out of my bed into the cold air. It was 7:00 am, and I have to be at work at 7:30!

I took a quick shower, and blow dried my hair. I slipped on a black pencil skirt, a white blouse, and a red cardigan. I put on a pair of black flats and grabbed a breakfast burrito while heading out the door. As I was walking to my car, I put on a pair of diamond studs and a chunky gold necklace. I got to my car and unlocked the door. It was a fifteen minute drive to the school, ant the time was 7:13 so I was pretty much on time.

"Idiot!" I yelled as a truck pulled out in front of me almost causing an accident. I rolled my eyes as he pulled in front of another vehicle.

I pulled into the school parking lot. I grabbed the bag that was in the back seat and opened the door. I headed inside and found my classroom. The room was a soft, and inviting yellow. I had decorated the room with fish and other sea creatures. There were little desks in neat little rows with tiny chairs at each one. I smiled as I put the bag on my desk.

The first pupil walked into the room about five minutes after I got here. "Hello, Miss Bates," she greeted giving me a hug.

"Hello, Cressida. How are you?" I asked striking up a conversation with the five-year-old.

"I'm good, thank you. How are you?" she replied.

"I'm doing very well, thank you," I answered.

"Hello, Miss Bates," her mother greeted me.

"Hello, Mrs. Baker," I replied.

"Have a good day!" Mrs. Baker said walking out of the room.

"Bye, mummy!" Cressida said waving to her mom.

"Goodbye!" she waved.

Soon, all of the students were in the room and the school day started.

I mentally counted the pupils in my head. Yep, all here. I made sure to record the perfect attendance.

"Now kids, today we are going to learn about the alphabet," I told them.

"You talk weird," one of my boys, Ryan said with an almost disgusted look on his face.

"That's because I'm from America," I told him.

"Is it different in America?" one of my girls, Brianna, asked.

"Yes, we don't drink much tea and some of us say y'all," I told them.

Their eyes opened wide. "What does 'y'all' mean?" Noah asked.

"Its short for you all or you guys. Like, would y'all like to play outside today?" I explained.

"That sounds weird," Kendra said bluntly.

"I'm sure it does, but that's how some people talk," I told them, "Just because a person sounds different or says things differently doesn't mean we should be mean to them."

"Yes, Miss Bates," they replied on unison.

"Now, who knows their ABC's?" I asked getting back on track.

"I do!" exclaimed Oliver.

"Would you recite them for us?" I asked.

"A B C D...WXYZ" he recited.

"Good job, Oliver," I praised, "Let's say it all together."

We recited the alphabet, then I started talking about the letter A. "Time for recess!" I  said.

They all jumped up and cheered. It was only the second day and I already know that they love their play time.

"Let's line up," I commanded standing in front of the door. Soon, all twenty children were all lined up single file.

I sighed. The day is over. The parents were picking up their children. I saw Mr. Styles walk in. I think his name is Harry, but I'm not sure.

"Mr. Styles!" I shouted from across the room getting his attention.

His head snapped up. "Yes, Miss Bates?" he answered.

"Please call me Paris. I hate being called Miss Bates by people my own age. It's so formal," I told him.

"Well, if I'm going to call you Paris, then you have to call me Harry," he said chuckling.

I got flutters in my stomach when he laughed. He was so good looking. I have been so focused on my career, that I haven't even thought about boys for a few years. I need a social life.

"It's about Oliver," I told him.
