"For the millionth time Emily Marie Brooke, get up!" my mother shouted as she pulled off my bed sheets. "Take of the lights first so I can open my eyes," I fought back with. This worked every time.

I stretched and yawned loudly, only to have a sock thrown at my face. What the hell. I looked at my door and saw my little brother Tyler grinning maniacally at me. That little son of a butterfly. I hopped of my bed and ran over to keep and cradled him in my arms. "Ew, I'm not five anymore" he groaned. Mind you that he turned six last month. I set him down and got in my stance. "Left jab one!" he shouted and he punched my on my stomach where I pretended to be hurt. If it's one thing I know, make others feel like something. "Em, don't forget to make up your bed" mom reminded me. I stared at my bed. Maybe if she didn't pull off the sheet, it would have been neater. I sighed.

I set my playlist and stripped. Today's a My Chemical Romance day. With that being said, I ended up washing my hair and dressed into dark clothes. None of the spike accessories because clearly, I'm not a dog.

I headed downstairs to meet my mom cooking in the kitchen and my dad reading the newspapers. You'd think we're a happy bunch but the truth is, I only love Tyler and my mom slightly. My dad? He only cares about looking well in front of others. Not as in the best brands but as in, he won't show me love at home but apparently in public, I'm a daddy's girl. I was forced to sit and have breakfast at the same table as him until a car horn put me out of my misery. "Bye mom," I waved at her (kissing parents on the cheek is incredibly awkward for me). I went by Ty and did our supercool handshake that we did since he learned what a hand was. I nodded at my dad and raced outside.

My best friend Kim was waiting outside in her sleek blue car which I aspired to have the black one to. I could drive but my mom doesn't trust me with a new brand car... or any car at all. "Good morning baby," she greeted me. We're not a couple but we have a very flirtatious friendship. Actually, one time when I was at a party, a random came behind me and started grinding on my until Kim said that we're together and started squeezing my behind which scared of the guy. Damn, I love that girl.

I simply winked at her and raised the volume. Ben Bruce was currently screaming and I sent my window down and took off the AC. Kim always argues with me but I'm just trying to save the earth by reducing the amount of carbon monoxide being expelled into the atmosphere (and I want my future kids to have a good life). We could've had kids. Ugh, stop this Em.

Shortly after, we arrived in school. Unlike other schools, my school was normal which meant no populars, jocks, musicians, bad boys, nerds. We were pretty much all rounded, thanks to our principal and her vision of 'all rounded individuals'. I went by my locker, which is next to Kim's, and got my books to revise before school starts. I do this a lot. I'm not one of the top students but I do care about my future and college. I met up with my other friends at the large tree not too far from the assembly court and began to study. They all spoke above me but nevertheless, I got twenty minutes of work done then started to chit-chat. The bell rang.

My first two classes went well, same old "read and analyse this poem." It's actually starting to get boring but I won't tell myself that before I fail the subject. Math class however...

We're currently recapping circumference and well, my friends are pervs. "Class, what is pi?" Mr. Baldeo asked. "Well sir, when subtract the pants, divide the leg-" Luke was interrupted. "Mr. Reid, cut that out immediately. The whole class was laughing and like earned himself a death glare. Sir cleared his throat and before he could talk, the bell rang for next period. "Ugh, homework students, find the circumference of a ball, a tire and your head," he stated. "Which head, sir?" Luke innocently asked while battering his eyelashes. Once more, the class began laughing uncontrollably and well Luke? He got detention after school.

It was lunchtime and we were in the cafeteria line, waiting to collect our mouthwatering burgers. Yes, the food actually tastes great here. We got our food and headed to our table. I sat between Kim and Drew while Luke, Rosie and Alec sat opposite us. These people were family to me. They made up for my fake relatives that only cared for me on my birthday or Christmas. They were all blabbering about math class while I was staring the old tree house through the windows. The tree was perfect but the house part... not so much. I had so many amazing memories in that tree with my squad, even with him. I always thought about mentioning its revival to Mrs Chest, our principal, but I'm way to intimidated by her to speak to her willingly.

"Em," Drew shook me, "you okay?" He was also my best friend who is also the sweetest guy I know. Lots of people asked me why we don't date but my feelings for him aren't like that. "Just thinking about the treehouse" He gave me a warm smile, knowing my feelings towards it.

We had a three more periods of school then it was home time. The girls planned a sleepover, seeing that today was Friday and that we had a beach clean up together tomorrow. I practically consider Kim's mom as my own, she's so kind and not as annoying as mine. I hugged her and we all headed straight to Kim's bedroom. We immediately began watching The Originals while the intoxicating scent of kettle corn popcorn was finding its way upstairs. We all cuddled up, legs wrapped around each other was stuffing our gullets and being torn by Klaus and Hope. We organised our clothes for tomorrow and went to bed at three o'clock in the morning. This is healthy right?
