The next morning I wake up and I realize I'm 20 min. late to school.
"Shit!" I mutter to myself. I hurry and get out of bed. Why didn't dad wake me up? Surely he would've known I slept in.
Once I'm finished getting dressed I go downstairs. And there's a note on the counter it says:
---------------------------------------------
Hey Taylor I went
For a run. Call me if you
Need anything.
Love ya,
Dad
--------------------------------------------
So that's why my dad never woke up. He'll be pissed if I call him saying I missed the bus and the school will call him if I skip so I guess i'll just have to run.
I head out the door and its freezing out. But Being a pro-snowboarder you kind of have to get used to it. School is 3 miles away from my house so it should take 20 minutes to get there. Right when I'm about to take off who comes up my driveway? With my luck it's my dad....of course.
"Taylor why aren't you in school?"
"Umm my alarm clock didn't go off."
"Taylor what the hell! Get in the fuckin car! Why can't you start taking responsibility around here!" Oh he is boiling mad. I'm so stupid, I should have made up a lie. If I told him I was training he probably wouldn't even like care. But nooo I had to tell him the truth.
I get in the car without saying a word. Maybe if he let me drive I would have gotten to school faster.
My dad gets in the car muttering some naughty words to himself. He just doesn't get it. He doesn't get how I'm 16 and can't drive. He doesn't get that snowboarding doesn't always come first. He doesn't get how he can't handle me.
I wish my mom was here.
