"Are we there yet? "

"Are we there yet?"

"Are we-"

"No. AJ, no." Clementine rolls her eyes from the front seat of the navy blue pickup truck.

"How long until we get there?" AJ lays on his back and lifts his feet to the ceiling of the truck.

"I dunno." Clementine didnt scold AJ. It wasnt in her demeanor to do so. That was a job an adult had to do. And she was not even close to being one.

Bu-bump

Clementine stops the pickup and instructs AJ to stay in the car.

As Clementine gets up and out of the truck, her stomach droped for no reason. She felt sick.

Its probally just a walker

She walks towards the body and it indeed is a walker. Dead, now mushed. It sort of looked like a tomato smoothie. Gross.

"Huh, okay." Clementine kneals down to loot the body, looking for any bullets or weapons in what was left of the body.

Her skilled fingers dive into every pocket and crevis untill the walker is completely searched.

"Okay AJ! Start the engine!" AJ crawls into the front seat and starts the ignition. The loud humm filling the dead atmosphere.

A faint rustle is heard in the bushes directly across from Clementine. "Hey!" Clementine rushes back towards the truck, the heavy footsteps of the now confirmed human raced after her. Clementine was very agile but she was caught very off guard.

"AJ open the door!" AJ leaped into the passengers side door and unlocked it, jumping back into the backseat.

Clementine leaps into the truck, her foot getting caught in the attacker's grasp.

Clem pulls against the driver's seat, her fingers aching. The leather feeling like needles against her skin.

"Let me go!" Clememtine's shrill, panicked voice cried into the nothingness. The assailant not bothering to take into consideration her pleas.

Clem began to kick. Wiggling her leg out of the attacker's hold and tucked under her.

She flipped around and saw baby blue eyes under the shadowy bill of the attackers red hat, covered by a hoodie.

Those eyes

She began to reach for the black hood of his sweatshirt, only for her hand to be batted away. "Dont fucking look at me. Give me your damn supplies and fuck off." The deep, raspy voice fills Clementine's ears.

No, it can't be. I saw him die with my own eyes.

"Look at me." Clementine stops fussing with the hoddie and looks the attacker straight in the eyes.

"What? What do-" He stops and his eyes widen when they meet her own.

"I saw you die at carver's. Who are you?" Clem whispers and the man's hand reaches up and pulls his hoodie down, revealing his black hair and the rest of his shocked face.

"I-I didnt die." He stammers and takes a step back, looking at himself, checking to see if he was dead.

"I saw that corpse, Nick. Who was it then?" Clementine says sternly. Her eyebrows furrowing in confusion. What does she look like? A stupid person?

"Listen, ill tell you later. I-I need to find Luke." Nick whispers and looks around, his eyes scanning each part of the thinning, dead forest behind them.

"No, i need answers, Nick. Im not letting you on this truck until i get them."

"I... I... "

"Nick!"

A sweet southern accent calls as it gets closer. The faint moans of walkers calling back to him.

"Luke!" Nick takes this as his chance to escape the question Clementine had asked and to help save his childhood best friend.

"Ah Fuck!"

Luke screams as a walker Grabs onto his hoodie, pulling it towards its rotting teath. "Nick!" Luke pulls and ducks put of his hoodie, exposing his signature brown sweater underneath it.

The walker chews on the hood for a minute before realizing Luke had run off.

"Get in and start the car!" Nick yells at Clem who was a few yards back.

"Okay." Clem leaps into the drivers seat, unlocks the doors and starts the ignition.

The engine takes a few tries to start but when it does it roars to life.  Luke met Nick and they ran towards the car, opening the door and jumping in.

"Be careful! AJ's back there!" Clem yells at Luke. She stomps on the gas petal, pushing the occupants of the car back into their seats.

"Owie!" AJ climbes up out from under the passenger's seat and beside Luke.

"Sorry kiddo." Luke flusters, rubbing his arms from the cold and rolling down his sleeves.

"Everyone ok?" Clem asks to the passengers, getting a unified 'yes'.

"Nick, now you have plenty of time to explain to me how in the world you are who you say you are." Clem glances up to him, her eyes reaching the limit of the side of her eyes.

"I... I set up a decoy. I didn't go to save Luke and Sarah 'cause there were too many walkers. I saw a walker that looked like me and pushed him into the fence." Nick shifted in his seat, showing he was uncomfortable.

"Why? You could've just went back to the group." Luke pipes up from the backseat, leaning on the armrest.

"Well, i didnt want y'all lookin for me and getting off track. I found Wellingtom but i left to find y'all cause it seemed selfish." Nick spoke with a grim voice.

"I know it sounds cliche but I wasn't thinking in the moment, that was the first thing i thought to do." Nick shrugs and I nod.

"And for you Luke? I saw you fall to the bottom of the trench." Clem changes the subject, seeing the got her answer from Nick.

"Well i held my breath for a while. Actually, i don't really recall how. I just opened my eyes and i was on dry land." Luke said, almost mumbling.

"That makes no sense! You know what...i don't care, it doesn't matter. Where are we going?" Clem suggests, looking carefully at the road signs.

"Anywhere. I dont care." Luke sighs, straighting up his back and leaning against the back seat.

"Well, Ohio sounds nice." AJ pipes up from the backseat.

Clem looks at the large blue, rusted sign. "Cleveland Ohio"

"Ohio it is."
