Eight

Hinata dodged the monster and kicked him away, the rest of the gang drew closer to him, their eyes piercing with a glare.

"The girl, grab her!" hissed the leader, Yui looked to the ground and found a dirty bat, "Don't come near me!" the monsters ran closer and Yui smacked them twice in a combo.

Hinata grabbed the leader by his throat and stomped on his legs, while pummeling the foe a shine caught his eye,

Broken glass

Hinata reached out for the piece and caught it, the monster below him threw Hinata to the floor, "How dare you?! You think a mere human can stop us?"

Hinata sighed and got to his feet, "I'm hardly human anyhow. I could care less about what you are" Hinata ran towards the monster, kicking him with a front flip and dropping him once more. Climbing on top of the snake beast, he sliced his throat with the glass shard. The monster stopped breathing and moving, returning back to his human form.

"Give it a rest! That bat hurts but it won't kill us!" Yui glared at the beasts and continued to smack them with the bat, "Ouch" Hinata then caught the monster from behind and slit it's throat.

The last monster gasped and charged at Hinata, but knocked away by Yui.

*CRACK*

Yui gasped as the bat broke and the monster fell on it's back. Hinata grabbed the glass once more and stabbed the beast through it's chest, "AAAAGH!!!" it yelled as it then reverted back to human.

Yui sighed as she tried to catch her breath. "God... That was scary..." she said dropping the bat.

Hinata nodded, "Sorry. I didn't expect them to be immune to bullets." he grabbed the other guns the monsters carried, "But might as well take them. Odds are they didn't just carry them for show" he tossed a gun to Yui, "Take that too. Just in case. Now I know that you act when danger is around. But that doesn't mean I won't try to protect you."

Yui nodded and put the gun away, "Um so do we keep going forward?"

Hinata nodded, We have to go to the science building near here. I think there is some stuff there that can help us"

Yui followed Hinata into the city, many people could be seen, some dead bodies covered in blood, small fires around, and 4 tall buildings.

"The farthest building is the Scientist's Workplace. That's where we need to go. Come on Yui" Hinata walked and looked around, Yui ran up to him, "Hinata... Can I have a hug? Please..."

The boy stared in to Yui's eyes, they were full of fear, he nodded with a calm expression, "Sorry. I didn't want you to come along because I knew these things would scare you..." he wrapped his arms around the girl and sighed, "...Sadly that is how life has become..."

"I want to make it a reality" ... Is he trying to change that? Is that what he meant by those words...?

Yui shed a tear and tugged on Hinata's sleeve as she pulled away from his hug, "Thank you for worrying. I think I'm okay now..." Hinata nodded, "Come on, let's go."

The two ventured forward, in to the city ruins. After a few minutes they arrived at their destination.

"Be on guard. There's a possibility that there are monsters hiding here on the inside" Hinata pulled out the pistol that he stole, Yui did the same.

The two walked to the door with broken glass and peered inside, "Stay here" Hinata took the lead and headed inside the building, lights were flickering and small sparks flying from them. He looked around only to find another group of children, sleeping.

Daywalkers......

Hinata shook his head and called Yui over silently, "Be quiet. Daywalkers are here" Yui nodded and the two walked into another corridor.

Yui pat Hinata, "What are Daywalkers?" Hinata looked at the path in front of them, "Daywalkers are types of monsters that look like giants but are human size, they eat people but they do that all their life... Never being human at all" Yui sighed, "That's horrible... " the boy nodded, "But also it's that reason exactly that I told you not to make noise. They can eat us... And it's not just one so it's risky" the two headed down the corridor leading to a lab.

"It seems fully functional.... That's... Really odd" Hinata examined a container and saw a green fluid, "What... This liquid... " Yui looked over his shoulder with a questioning look, "What is that?" Hinata gasped, "The virus... The one that spreads when a body has been dead for too long in it's monster form. If someone comes into contact, it can kill them or make them into daywalkers... I'm guessing that's what happened to the children out there " Yui took a closer took at the fluid, "But... It's covered... If they touched it, they would've reacted no?" Hinata nodded, "That means someone else was here after that happened" Yui raised a brow, "But who?" Hinata looked at the other fluids on the test tube holder, "Blood is in this one... Hydrogen Peroxide in this one... Acid... A base....? Someone was performing experiments here... On living things..." Yui gasped as she looked to a container.

"What is it?" Hinata asked walking over to the girl, she pointed, Hinata's eyes grew wide, "A dead body.... Really... Decomposing.... But it's fully human" Yui turned her face from the disgusting sight. Hinata took a closer look, "No wait.... It's... Alive?! What the hell?!" the box began to jump and fell to the floor making a loud thump. Hinata looked at the organism as it began to morph into a human, Hinata gasped.

The organism had copied his looks exactly, "What are you..." he said in shock, the organism tilted it's head, "You...? Me...?" Hinata looked into the eyes of the creature and soon felt captivated by it's stare, "I... Can't move..." the organism smiled so wide unlike any human being, "Dead!" it charged at Hinata in a demonic movement, "Hinata!" Yui shouted as she smacked the monster with the box. Hinata shook his head, "Yui!" he pulled out his gun and shot the beast, "Gah?!" it screamed as it fell back, Yui grabbed the test tubes and threw the acid, "Die !!" she yelled in slight fear.

The monster began to dissolve onto the floor, Hinata stared in amazement, "This... Was definitely not a normal monster. It was made by someone here..." after finishing his sentence, a loud ruckus could be heard down the hall.

Yui's eyes grew wide, "It's the Daywalkers!!!!" the monsters ran to the two not stopping for a moment, Yui closed her eyes, "AAAAAAH!!!!"
