"Clementine!" A male voice cried out.

I woke up in a cold sweat, my body shot straight out of bed and I was breathing heavily. My black hair stuck to my face and I had my clear grey eyes wide open, I felt like I couldn't dare to blink. I quickly whipped my head from left to right to see who was desperately crying out for me but no one was there. It wasn't real.

I shifted my eyes and saw that it was still night time but the sun was ready to peek through, I was relieved to see that I wouldn't have to go back to sleep. I swung my leg over one side of the bed and looked down on the wooden floor or my bedroom. It was chipped and weak, I always feared it would collapse.

I closed my eyes for a few moments and started to remember my nightmare. There was my mother and brother Knox, I had dreamt them standing there, they looked as peaceful and happy as ever. Just how I always saw them. However, suddenly they were horrendously murdered and their bodies were dumped to the sides of the road.

"It's not real, Clementine" I scoffed out as I reopened my eyes. I got off my bed and sat down in front of my mirror. I was beaten in sweat and I was still out of breath. I held my head in my hands and focused on controlling my breathing. As I started to gain my conscious back, I rolled my eyes at myself and gone to take a shower.

At this point, I was used to these cruel nightmares. I had no closure as to what happened to my mother or brother. They just turned up dead one day, not even a body was found. The fact, that I had no closure, haunted me. I was around nine years old when it happened and now I had turned fourteen, I lived with my father but I wished I had lived alone. He took my mother's death hard and different, he had turned into a more miserly coward. Instead of tears, he had more hate in his heart. He was like that to begin but without my brother to put him into his place, he always lashed out of control. My brother was merely eleven, it was difficult to believe I was now older than him. Not a day goes by where I don't miss my poor older brother.

I tossed my hair up, slipped on some comfortable clothes, and placed my purse over my shoulder. I stomped down the stairs because I was in a hurry to be on my way to school, however my father started yelling. Usually he wasn't back until late in the afternoon and so I was caught by surprise by the roars of his voice,

"Keep it down! I'm trying to sleep..."

He rested his head in his arms where he was sat on the dinner table. He was out late again at the bar, a bottle of vodka sat next to him and I cringed. He also had a half smoked cigar which I eagerly hope would set fire to the wooden table. It still remained intact though.

"Go sleep in your bed-"

"Piss off" He said in a tone.

"Glad to" I mumbled under my breath.

Oh no...

Suddenly, he shot his head at me and looked at me with his angry, bloodshot grey eyes. He tossed the table out of the way, sending the bottle of vodka to break into pieces. I jumped and watched as he stomped his way to me to pin me to the wall. He gripped me harshly and I was able to smell the awful scent of alcohol coming from his mouth.

"Look at me, Clementine!" He shouted. Slowly I rose my eyes towards him.

"I've taken care of you, I feed you! I let you live in my house and this is the respect I get!? Huh!?" He thumped me against the wall in which caused me to look down to the floor. A lump formed inside my throat and I gritted my teeth as I tried to focus on the cigarette that was still on the floor.

"Look at me!" He shouted.

"What do you want?" I whimpered out as I looked at him. He also gritted his teeth but then pushed me to the front door where I fell onto the floor. My cheek scraped against the wood floor in which caused me to quickly place my hand on top of it. I hoped it would not leave a mark. My father simply looked at me with dead eyes and said in low tone,
