An Interesting Day

"Class dismissed," drawled Snape. I wonder what he and his wife, Kathy Snape (nee Lean) were fighting about now. A week ago our whole class was stunned as she barged in, wand in hand, ready to curse our Potions professor into oblivion. It wasn't until McGonagall barged in until she finally left a sour-faced, lemon sucking faced Snape to deal with us. Thankfully, the bell rang very soon after that so Professor Snape couldn't give us any homework. What disturbed me though, was that Bunny  (I don't know his name but everyone calls him Bunny) was staring after Kathy Snape and practically drooling. When I nudged Clara to tell her, she just shrugged and told me to pay attention to her favorite subject. Later on, she added that I had a habit of seeing things.

Honestly, I didn't think Potions was anything special, just mixing together random ingredients to make strange mixtures. My favorite is Ancient Runes. It may be just me, but I find so much excitement in deciphering hundreds of years old of messages. It's like they're writing letters to us, just in a different way.

I was startled out of my daydreams by a piercing scream.

"And that is what happens when you dare contradict my orders," said a cold, empty, souless voice. It was our Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher, Alecto Carrow. She was using the Cruciatus Curse on the Hufflepuff Hannah Abbott. That was illegal until Dumbledore died. Since then, student numbers have been decreasing rapidly because concerned and angry parents have been practically dragging the students home to safety. I don't blame them, though. I blame ones that live without love, as that is how Lord Voldemort rose to power.

It doesn't even make sense why Snape is even trying to hide the fact the the Carrow siblings are Death Eaters. The whole school already knows it, yet he keeps on calling them his Aurors. Even Crabbe and Goyle wouldn't be thick enough to believe that, but then again, their fathers are Voldemort followers as well.

I bit my lip as a shaking Hannah returned to her seat. The plan that had been murking in the back of my mind swam to the surface, pleading with me to give it a thought. I considered telling Nev about it, but I drove that out of my mind. He had enough to worry about already. Meanwhile, while I played with the little golden coin in my pocket from fifth year.
