*this isn't actually proofread yet so there's going to be a few mistakes lolol*

At the end of the day, Hoseok bid Yoongi farewell as they separated, going different routes on the way home from school.

Although Yoongi lingered at the school gates to see if he could catch a glimpse of Jimin before he went home. He waited and waited but he saw no Jimin he wanted coming out the gates. He cursed at himself for not arriving earlier.

Yoongi turned around and walked back home, grumbling to himself that he'll catch Jimin at an earlier time next time.

A few moments later, Jimin walked out of the building while talking to his class teacher. His teacher asking how he was finding the school, and how was he managing his grades, and if his classmates were treating him well too.

Jimin answered to the questions, the teacher nodding along. Jimin bowed formally and the two separated. Finally Jimin took his bike from the racks and cycled out of the school gates back home.

.

Hoseok stared at his phone in his hands. Rereading the messages his mother sent him over and over.

[im sorry, but i won't be home tonight.
you'll have to cook for yourself
this evening.]
[i love you xoxo]

He sighed as he replied with an 'I love you too' and turned off his phone. He sighed as he didn't really know what to cook except for ramen. There were a few packets of ramen at his house so he decided for that.

"Hey Hoseok," Hoseok jumped at the sound of someone calling out his name and tyres squeaking as they came to a stop. He turned around to Jimin behind him. He smiled at the younger and waved.

"Hey," he nodded. Jimin caught up to Hoseok and jumped off of his bike so he could walk beside the taller boy. Hoseok appreciated this as he didn't particularly like being by himself.

"I didn't know you go this way home," Hoseok started as he stuffed his phone back in his pocket.

"I don't really. My step-brother lives this way and I'm staying with him until my mom and his dad come back from their honeymoon," Jimin said as he struggled to keep up with Hoseok's pace with his short, slow strides.

"Ah, I understand," Hoseok nodded. "That must be why he transferred here, I guess," her thought to himself.

"Are you okay? You sound kind of down."

"I'm fine. My mother just won't be home until late this evening, and I don't know how to cook anything except for ramen," Hoseok pouted at the sound of having ramen for the fourth time this week in a row.

"Oh! You can come to my house for dinner! My Hyung is a really good cook and he always makes more than enough for us to eat," Jimin spoke excitedly, this would be the first time he would have a friend over to hang out with in a long while.

"Are you sure? I don't want to intrude or anything," Hoseok said as he looked down at Jimin. Jimin looked up and smiled wide.

"I'm very sure! You're not going to be a bother at all."

"Okay then," Hoseok smiled too. He was craving for a home cooked dinner and how could he say no to free food?

-

It turns out that Jimin's step-brother only lived about two minutes away from where Hoseok lived.

"Hyung, I'm home!" Jimin yelled as they stood at the entrance of the house. They took off their shoes and left them on a shoe rack and put on slippers. Hoseok followed Jimin into the kitchen where his older step-brother worked at the counter preparing meat and vegetables.

"Hey, Jimin. How was school?" He asked as he didn't look up, not noticing the extra presence in the kitchen.

"It was good. Nothing much really happened," Jimin said first. He looked at his step-brother preparing the food before speaking again. "Uh, hyung, is it okay if my friend here can stay for dinner?"

He looked up from chopping onions and finally noticed Hoseok who stood there awkwardly next to Jimin.

His brother smiled, he wiped his hands on his apron and stuck out his hand for Hoseok to shake. "Hi, I'm Seokjin. It's nice to meet you."

"My name is Hoseok. And, uh, likewise," he smiled and shook Seokjin's hand. Seokjin was very handsome. He was tall and had dark hair, his eyes were warm and soft like his hands. Hoseok was starting to feel self-conscious just looking at Seokjin.

"Dinner will be ready in about half an hour, so why don't you both do your homework before doing anything else."

Jimin groaned and pouted, "but hyung-" Seokjin cut off Jimin and spoke up.

"Don't you 'but' me. We both know that if you don't do your homework now, you're not going to get any of it done later on." Jimin whined but agreed with Seokjin, Hoseok still looking very awkward.

"Come on, we can go to my room and do our homework," Jimin sulked as he trudged his way out of the kitchen and upstairs to his bedroom, with Hoseok trailing behind.

It took only a split second for Jimin to return to his normal, bubbly self. Jimin's room was fairly small but it wasn't cramped like Hoseok's. The walls were a pale grey, and his bed stood beside the window. He had a small nightstand beside his bed and in the corner of the room was his chest of drawers for clothes and a shelf stacked full with books was beside it.

Jimin pulled out a small table from under his bed and he took two of his pillows for him and Hoseok to sit on. They sat down at the same time and took out their homework.

They sat in a comfortable silence, Hoseok helping out with Jimin's weakest subjects and Jimin helping with Hoseok's weakest subjects.

They were halfway finished when Seokjin had called them for dinner.
