Hoseok had arranged with Jimin to walk to school together for the next day. Both of them being super bright and talkative, they had got on exceptionally well with each other.

After Hoseok had gotten ready for school, he made his way to the door of his house and slipped on his shoes and coat. His mother always had to leave for work before Hoseok woke up for school so Hoseok made sure he locked up after himself and then walked to meet up with Jimin.

-

"Do you like it here? Is it any different than your old school?" Hoseok had asked after a while. Jimin looked up at Hoseok and smiled wide.

"Yeah, it's really different than what I had expected," his expression softened, his smile not reaching his ears like a few moments ago, "I do miss Busan a lot though. And my friends too! But the friends I've made here are really sweet and kind too."

"That's good, I'm glad we're treating you well. How does our school differ than your old one?" Hoseok rested his hands in his trouser pockets as they walked, he made a mental note to himself to find or buy a pair of gloves.

"Well for starters, everywhere I turn there are girls - and sometimes boys too - who just . . . kind of stare at me. It sometimes feel as if they're following everywhere I go too, at times it can be just so frustrating and unnerving," Jimin shrugged his shoulders and looked down at his shoes as they walked.

"Maybe they just stare because you're really handsome," Hoseok said, speaking his mind when he didn't really mean to, "Um, forget what I said. I didn't mean tha- actually yes I did but I didn't mean to say it aloud. Umm . . ."

Jimin blushed and Hoseok unconsciously rubbed his ears to hide how red they were from embarrassment.

"Th-thanks, I guess. You're really handsome too?" Jimin decided to speak his mind too, not by accident. It was more like a shy compliment. Jimin definitely was not homosexual, but he was going through that phase where he was questioning what kind of gender he liked.

"You do?! - uh, ahem - you do?" Hoseok thought he had sounded way too happy hearing Jimin say that so he tried to cover it up with a cough and reply a bit more coolly.

It grew into an awkward silence. Neither of the boys having courage to say anything again in fear that either of them would say something stupid again.

"Break the silence, don't make it look like your a weirdo!" Jimin thought to himself, he shook his head to get rid of his negative thoughts.

"Do you want to walk together again after school?" Jimin suggested as they reached the school gates.

"Thank god he doesn't hate me."

"Sure! I'll wait for you at the bike racks?" Hoseok raised a brow. Jimin nodded enthusiastically.

They parted ways, Jimin heading off to the friends he said he would talk to before class and Hoseok went looking for his own group of friends.

He spotted the back of Yoongi's head, who seemed to be talking with a teacher. He waited until the conversation finished and the teacher walked to their class. Hoseok walked towards Yoongi's who had now just looked lost and confused.

"What's wrong?" He said putting an arm around Yoongi.

Yoongi jumped in fright. He exhaled deeply and smiled.

"It's nothing, the teacher says I'm falling behind in class and I should be trying harder. I think he wants me to get grinds," Yoongi rested his hands in his trouser pockets.

"Ah, I see. Well if you don't want to spend money on grinds, you can always come to me for help, I won't mind," Hoseok says as they walk into the school halls together.

"Really? How about we start today then? Meet in the library after school I guess or we can walk to my house?" Yoongi asked. He knew that Hoseok didn't like people coming to his house, Hoseok thought it was embarrassing when people came to his house and saw  that he wasn't from a well off family and he was practically poor.

Hoseok stopped in his tracks. Wondering if he should walk home with Jimin like he promised or help out one of his closest friends to study.

"A promise is a promise," Hoseok had thought to himself, he would have to break it to Yoongi that he was walking home with Jimin but maybe another day to study would be good instead.

"Ah, I'm really sorry, Yoongi, but I promised Jimin already that we would walk home together today. Is it okay to study another day? How about on the weekends instead?" Hoseok said as they walked to class together.

Yoongi was taken aback and he furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. "Since when were you buddy-buddy with Jimin? We are talking about the same Jimin, right?"

"Well we sort of bumped into each other yesterday after school. Actually he bumped into me more like, then he invited me to have dinner at his house because my mom wasn't going to be home and then I'd have ramen for like the fourth time this week. The dinner we had at his house was really good, his older brother made it! Actually it was his step-brother who is really handsome, I felt so self-conscious just standing in the room because well you know, Jimin is super handsome too. But his brother can really cook! Better than Namjoon-hyung anyways. Then we went back to his room which we were already in it because we were doing homework and then we just talked about ourselves. Did you know that once jimi-" Hoseok was cut off from rambling any more by Yoongi who pressed a finger to his lips.

"I get it, Hoseok, you're friends now," Yoongi sounded calm on the outside but inside he was seething that Hoseok had found out more about Jimin in less than a day than he had in the span of a month from stalking. How come it was Hoseok that got invited to Jimin's house and not himself? How dare Hoseok getting to be friends faster than  himself could?

He thought of plots on how to deal with the current situation. "Once Jimin and Hoseok are really close, I'll get Hoseok to introduce me to Jimin and then I can finally dump Hoseok and have Jimin to myself." He smiled to himself at the thought, it would be perfect. He stayed silent thinking of more ways to dump Hoseok after he had Jimin to himself. "Should I start nasty rumours about him to make Jimin hate him? Should I fake an accident that would get Hoseok into serious trouble? Maybe even expelled?"

"What are you thinking about?" Hoseok asked curiously.

"Oh, just thinking about my future and the sort. What I want to do after school," Yoongi answered. He rolled his eyes on the inside. He really hated Hoseok but he'd have to put up with him if he wants Jimin in the end.
