Nico had gone to resurrect Bianca only to find that she had chosen rebirth just four hours earlier. He was devastated. That was when he saw the girl. She didn't look anything like him, but he could feel their kinship from halfway across the fields of Asphodel. He walked over to her and gave her the same offer he would have given Bianca had she given him the chance. This other girl, Hazel, she accepted.

"Just another quarter of a mile. Come on Hazel, we can make it," Nico said, "Come on, you've got to keep me awake until we get there."
"Uhhh," Hazel groaned.
"That's it, just a little farther," Nico coaxed.
"Ave Roma! Help! I'm the ambassador and this is my sister!" he called to the sentries on the wall and promptly passed out, Hazel falling on top of him. When he woke again he was in an infirmary.
"Well, Ambassador. You have a sister," Praetor Reyna said.
"Ya, a bit of a surprise to me as well. We were attacked in New Orleans and I miss calculated a little. I meant to drop us on the via Praetoria, but we ended up in San Francisco and by that point we were both on the edge of collapse," Nico said, "Please Reyna, she's a little confused at the moment, but she really needs somewhere to go and she's the type to work for it. She'll make a good legionare and she's willing. I explained it to her just before we were attacked."
"We'll have to consult the auguries, but if it is as you say I see no reason why she shouldn't go to the wolf house and if Lupa deems her worthy she will certainly have a place here," Reyna said.
"Thanks Reyna. If you'll tell her that I'll be back in about two weeks I'd greatly appreciate it. For now I have pressing business elsewhere," Nico said.
"Business where?" Reyna asked.
"Olympus," he said sourly, "they've stopped talking to Dad and he wants to know why." Reyna nodded.
"Are you strong enough to get there without passing out yet?" she asked.
"Doesn't really matter. They're used to me showing up less than healthy. Apollo actually has a cot next to his throne specifically so he can heal me without having to leave council meetings," he said.
"Well then, safe travels Nico," Reyna said. He smiled and faded into shadows.
