You know how you tell yourself how you'll never come back home no matter what, well it comes back to bite you in the ass over and over again. I left Chicago for a new chance at a new life. I guess I had a great life in New York with my Aunt and Uncle, but eventually life catches up with you and you wind up back in the shitty shit hole that you always wanted to forget.

I walked up the stairs to the brown Milkovich house and knock. I wait in the freezing cold for someone to answer the door. The door opens and I see my younger sister Mandy. I smiled before walking in.

"Well this place certainly hasn't change." I said dropping my bag on the floor.

"Who's at the fucking door?" a voice yelled.

I smiled when I saw someone with black hair walk into the kitchen. "Hello, Mickey." I said looking at him.

"What the fuck are you doing here?" Mickey asked.

"What I can't come and visit my favorite twin brother?" I asked walking over to him.

"What are you talking about? I'm your only twin brother." he said before lighting a cigarette

"I got semester off." I told them before grabbing my bag and heading towards the door. "I have to go. Aunt Vic will blow a gasket if I'm late for dinner." I said before walking out the door. I headed down the sidewalk.

It took me thirty minutes to get back to the apartment that my Aunt and I were staying in for the time being. I unlocked the door and walked in to see my aunt in the kitchen. "What are doing?" I asked looking at all the food on the counter and island.

"We have been invited to have dinner with a new friend of mine." she smiled as she continued to mess around in the kitchen.

"How could you have made a new friend already? We been here...what five hours?" I asked sitting on the counter eating some dip.

"Her name is Fiona Gallagher and she has siblings...who would love to meet you." she said taking the bowl of dip away from me. "She has five siblings, two around your age, two a couple years younger than you and then a two year old."

"That's a handful." I said jumping off the counter. "Want me to change into something nicer?" I asked looking at her.

"If you want to." she said looking at me.

I was wearing a sweater with skinny jeans with wholes in them and black combat boots. "This is good enough for dinner." I said walking out of the kitchen and to my room.

~A Few Hours Later~

The time to go to the Gallagher's has finally arrived. Vic had me carry the glass container of mac and cheese as we walked up to the house. She knocked and we waited for a few minutes until the door opened and a tall brunette was present. "Vicki, hi, come in." she said ushering us in.

"This must be Mel." she said holding out her hand

I grabbed it and shook it, "The one and only." I said looking at her.

"I'm Fiona." she said as she turned.

Vic and I followed her into the kitchen area. "Kids, dinner!" she yelled before looking at us, "Sorry, that's the only way that they hear me." she said

"It's fine. I brought mac and cheese." Vic said holding the dish out.

"It's the only piece of food that she doesn't burn." I said smiling at Vic.

"Go sit your ass down, Mel." Vic said walking closer to the counter.

Mel walked over to the table but stopped when she was pushed to the side by someone. "Who are these people?" a boy asked as a girl and two others came down the stairs. One was carrying a little boy.

"This is Vicki and Mel. Vicki and Mel this is my family." she said

"Nice too meet you, Mel. I'm Debbie." a girl said walking over to me.

I smiled at her, "Nice to meet you Debbie."

"I'm Carl, honey." a boy said

"Carl, stop freaking the girl out." a red head said

"I'm Ian." he said "And that's Lip and the little one is Liam." he said

I walked over to the table sat down in the chair at the end of the table, "Lip?" I asked looking at the boy with curly hair.

"Short for Philip." he said, "What's Mel short for?"

"Melinda." I said.

"Okay! Who's ready for mac and cheese and chicken?" Fiona asked setting the dish of mac and cheese on the table while Vic set the plate of chicken on the table.

This is only the first chapter so of course it's not going to be the greatest but it's a work in progress. Tell me what you think of the first chapter.
