The mid-Spring night was calm and warm, peaceful, as Hei paced across the driveway. His mind was in contrast with such a serene night; he couldn't believe he'd told Suou everything. He couldn't believe he'd promised her things that he certainly shouldn't have promised her.
"Hei?" Suou had spoken, her voice rising in concern. She'd taken her soft, fragile hands, the hands of a girl, and placed them tenderly on either side of Hei's face.
"Don't cry, Hei" she'd whispered, the orange glow from streetlights outside shining over her gentle expression.
"I loved you so much, Suou; I still love you that way" Hei's voice was even despite the tears trailing down his face. "You disappeared. You don't know that you did, but you did. The world was... Well it was a different world..." Hei could not seem to stop the words slipping from his lips. As Hei spoke of the past, the feelings from that other world seemed to reinstate themselves at the forefront of his mind. Pai. Amber. Yin. Like sudden gunshots, all the people of his past had gone.
