The Inspiration for 'Her Cruel Mate'
I felt like writing something unique. I have read many werewolf stories that were too cliché.
I hated certain plots especially when mates are rejected or when a mate was once bullied but comes back as a badass.
So I began writing something based on the thoughts in head. After a while I began winging the plot without thinking about it. That is how 'Her Cruel Mate' was inspired.
The Knox Family Curse
Thaddeus is not the only man in his family to have this horrible curse.
The curse was placed on Thaddeus's passed ancestor for his actions. A resentful witch placed the curse on the Knox family. The curse is a reflection of the witches emotions.
The curse can only be activated by the cursed individuals mate, no one else. The male would have been triggered by his anger caused by his female's actions.
The male may not be angry with his mate but the intense flood of negative and destructive emotions consume the male. The male is under the witches control over any of his actions. The male will end up inflicting pain onto his mate.

I completely adore the his vibe and personality. He may seem rude but it is because he is hurt, physically and emotionally. His defence mechanism is to shut those who are around him out.
When his mate comes into his life, we can see the change in him. He wouldn't normally smile or even laugh.
One of his biggest changes is when he offers his prisoners a chance to join his pack or to become rogues instead of killing off the the broken pack.
