Chapter 5
We got back to our cars at the reserve and Stiles walked me over to my car.
"I'm going to drop Scott off at his house and then you can follow me from there." Stiles said.
"Okay." I said and pulled out my phone to text my dad. I texted him and told him I was hanging out with a friend from school and that I would be home by seven-thirty, in time for dinner.
I slipped my phone back in my pocket and got into my car. I waited until Stiles turned his jeep around and then I did the same. I followed him down the road and he pulled over into the driveway of what I assumed, was Scott's house. I followed and parked.
Stiles got out of his jeep and motioned for me to follow him. I got out and followed the guys inside. I followed them upstairs and into a room at the end of the hall. It was Scott's room. It was messy like most of guys rooms were.
"Okay, let's see this bite." Stiles said excitedly.
Scott lifted up his shirt and slowly peeled off a slightly bloody bandage. There was nothing there.
"Seriously Scott? if you're going to joke around at least put on a fake bite mark. You don't have to lie." Stiles said.
"No, I swear there was one here. Look at the bandage, it still has blood on it." He pleaded with Stiles.
"Alright, alright I believe you." Stiles said.
They both turned to look at me.
"I believe you." I whispered, still looking at Scott's side. It didn't make sense. How did it heal so quickly?
Scott breathed out a sigh of relief, and Stiles walked towards the bedroom door.
"Well, Tori and I are going to go. We'll see you tomorrow." Stiles said.
"Bye guys." Scott said.
"Bye Scott." I called, following Stiles out of his room, down the stairs, and out the door.
I got in my car and followed Stiles down the road until we reached our destination. He got out and walked over to my car. Before I could, opened the door for me.
"Thanks." I smiled.
We walked up the stairs of his porch and he unlocked the front door. We stepped through the front door and I looked around. His house was nice, cozy, and inviting.
"So, what do you want to do?" he asked.
"I don't know. I'm fine wit whatever you want to do." I said.
"Um okay. Do you want to see my room?" he asked.
"Sure." I said.
He took my hand and led me upstairs, down the hall, and into his room. There was a bed, a closet, a large dresser, and a night stand. Across from his bed, there was a desk with papers scattered all over it and piles of books stacked up.
He walked over and sat on his bed. I followed and sat next next to him. I lay down on my back and he did the same. We just sat there, looking up at the ceiling. All of a sudden Stiles burst out laughing. I turned on my side and propped myself up with my elbow.
"What?" I cocked an eyebrow.
"Nothing. There was just an awkward silence." he said.
"Oh. Well, ask me something then." I said.
"Um... did you have a lot of friends in Pennsylvania?" he asked.
"Yeah. I had tons if friends. My best friend Lola, miss her to death." I said.
"That sucks that you had to leave there, all of your friends, memories."
"Yeah, it's also where I lost my brother." I said weakly. He looked over at me.
"What happened?" he whispered.
"He got hit by a drunk driver..." I said, barely audible, and a tear escaped my eye.
He spoke then. "I'm sorry. I lost my mom a while back."
"I'm so sorry." I said and sat up. He did too. He wrapped his arms around me and I put my head in the crook of his neck. We sat there for a while in silence. Finally he broke it.
"Do you want to go downstairs and watch a movie?"
"Sure." I said.
He got up and grabbed my hand. I followed him into the hall and downstairs, into the living room. We sat on the couch and he turned the tv on. He got up and walked over to the DVD cabinet. He opened it.
"What do you want to watch?" he looked over at me.
"Do you have any scary movies?" I asked. I loved scary movies. They were my favorite.
"Uh yeah, there's Mama, the Possession, the Conjuring, Evil Dead, the Devil Inside. I have all the Halloween movies, Friday the 13th movies, and Saw movies, and I have Nightmare on Elmstreet, and some others." he looked over at me again.
"Choose whatever you want." I said.
He picked a movie, which I couldn't see. Then he came over and sat down on the end of the couch next to me and I scooted closer to him.
"Which movie did you pick?" I asked him.
"Nightmare on Elmstreet." he answered.
-------------------------
We were about half way through the movie when a man in a police uniform stepped inside of the room. I guessed it was Stiles's dad.
"Hey dad." Stiles said.
"Hi Stiles." he said.
"Uh dad, this is Tori." he motioned towards me and paused the movie. His dad didn't seem to notice me until Stiles had introduced me. He looked at me kind of surprised.
"You have a girl over here?" he asked, shock and surprise obvious in his voice.
"Yeah dad. Is it that hard to believe." Stiles asked. Mr.Stillinski gave him a look.
"You know what? Don't answer that. Anyways, this is Tori Wilson, she moved here from Pennsylvania." Stiles said.
"Wilson, Wilson, that name sounds familiar." he said.
"That's probably because my dad is a police officer and he is going to be working with you next week." I told him.
"Oh that's right. Thanks." He said. I laughed.
"Nice to meet you sir." I got up and shook his hand.
"Nice to meet you Tori. I'm going to take a nap Stiles." he said.
"Okay." Stiles said.
We turned back to the movie and Stiles pressed play. I brought my legs up to my chest and rested my chin on my knees. A scary part came on and I grabbed Stiles's hand as a reflex. He laughed, but kept my hand. I smiled. The movie ended and I checked the time. It was seven-twenty. I sighed.
"I should probably get going. I told my dad I would be home at seven-thirty." I said.
"Okay." he said.
We got up and he walked me to the door. I slipped my shoes on and turned to Stiles. I gave him a hug.
"Bye Stiles. I'll see you tomorrow.Thanks."
I said.
"Bye Tori." he smiled.
I walked out the front door and to my car. I opened my car door and got in. I started the car and pulled out of his driveway. I waved to him and he waved back. I drove up the road and got back to my new house. It wasn't that far away. Only about five minutes.
I got out of the car, locked it and walked into my house. I got in and put my keys into the bowl on the table in the hall and walked to the kitchen. I grabbed a bottle of water out of the fridge.
I walked up the stairs and into my new room and collapsed onto my bed. I was beyond tired. I slowly drifted off to sleep.
What seemed to be no longer than five minutes later, I was being poked awake. It was my dad, telling me that he had dinner ready for me. I walked downstairs slowly and grabbed a plate. I are slowly. After I was done I put my dishes in the dishwasher and walked upstairs.
I changed into a pair of sweatpants and I t-shirt. I climbed into my bed and fell asleep quickly.
