Max's P.O.V
We drove off and we were mostly quiet the whole way.I would look over at Shelby every once in a while,but when I looked at her I realized she had on the necklace I gave her instead of her old one.
"Hey you're wearing the necklace I gave you.",I said.She looked up and she put her hand on it."Oh ya.I really like it and I appreciate you getting it for me.",she smiled.
"Your welcome Shelby it was the least I could do.",I said.It went quiet again.Shelby closed her eyes and fell asleep her head resting on her knees.I smiled at her and kept on driving.
She moved.I looked at her.We were pulling into their neighborhood.(don't know if they live in a neighborhood but in my story they do.)
She moved again.she moaned.We pulled in their driveway."Shelby.Shelby wake up."She shot up drenched in sweat.It scared me to and I jumped back.
"Shelby what's wrong?",I asked.I put my hand on her shoulder.She calmed down and said."It happened again.",she held her head in her hands.
"Max I don't know what to do.",she cried."Well calm down for a start.What it say?",I asked."It said that the power they released was now coming from this necklace cause you are now the one giving me strength.It also said that that after I took the old one off it vanished and was now replaced by this one.",she explained.
I was giving Shelby strength?
But how?
But why?
Was I encouraging her?
"Well don't worry about that.Its your birthday and we're going to make up for your last one.",I said trying to cheer her up.She smiled.
We both got out of the car.We headed to the party and everyone was already there.Music played loud people were talking and laughing.
And some drinking.aw great."Hey guys!",Adam said to us.We both said hi back and headed in with the others.I went to go talk to Ross and Tim and Shelby went to go talk to the others.
Shelby's P.O.V
I went off to go find the girls there.I saw Alesa talking to Em and Jess."Hey guys!",I had to yell over the others."Hey Shelby!",they yelled back.Jess said something but I couldn't hear her."What?!"She said it again."What?!",I yelled.Alesa grabbed my hand and Jess and em followed.
She took us to a dock outside their house.We all sat down."That's better now we can talk like normal people.",Alesa said taking in the sound of crickets buzzing and not the sound of boys cussing at each other while there drunk.
"I said are you happy about turning 21?",Jess asked."I mean I guess.",I said slowly."What's wrong Shelby.You seem a little off?",Em said."Ya don't you like you're party?",Jess asked.Tears filled up in my eyes and I bit my lower lip."Did I say something?",Jess asked.they all scooted closer to me.
"What's wrong?",Alesa asked giving me a hug.I smiled weakly and wiped away my tears.Then my phone buzzed I had gotten a message.I looked at it and it was Tyler.I decided to get it over with and see what the other 6 messages said.
Shelby come back.
Shelby why aren't you answering me?
What's wrong with you
Shelby I love you.
Why don't you answer you're boyfriend.
Come back to the restaurant.

I had had enough.I through my phone in the grass.The girls stared at me in shock.I sighed."Fine I'll tell you."They leaned in closer.
"I used to date this boy named Tyler.We both helped each other on our YouTube channels.We had a great time together.One day he asked me to be his girlfriend and I said yes.
It was all doing fine until a couple months later and I saw him hitting on another girl.And apparently he was cheating on me.I was dumb enough for him to trick me into being his girlfriend again.
Then it finally was my birthday.We had a big party for me.Tyler pulled me aside to talk to me.And...and...he beat me up.Its all a little fuzzy but when I woke up I was in the basement and I tried to stand up and I saw a shadow of someone and...and everything went black.
All I remember is waking up in the hospital with a friend from the party next to me.After that I had a broken leg,foot,arm,and rib.Im surprised they didn't put me in a full body cast.I broke up with him and he still thinks we're still together.",I finally ended it.
Everyone was staring at me."Wow you guys actually stayed?",I said laughing under my breath."Shelby I'm so sorry.",Jess said."It's okay guys,really.",I reassured them.
"Okay enough about being sad.Shelby I heard that-"There was a scream from the house it sounded like someone yelling schicaler.We all laughed."As I was going to say that I heard we're getting three new girls at the office soon Shelby.",Em said.I squealed.
We all talked for a while and then we decided to go back in.I told them I would meet them back in.I picked up my phone and put it in my pocket.Then I felt someone grab my wrist.I turned around and it was Tyler.
I tried to get away but I couldn't."Listen Shelby I just wanted to talk to you.",he said."Do you remember what you did to me last time you said that."Listen I'm sorry I've changed trust me."I didn't trust him but there was this look in his eyes that made me feel comforted."Fine.And even if I said no you wouldn't let me go anyway."
I followed him to the side of the house."What do you need?"He looked to both of his sides.And then he backed me up against the wall and held my legs so I couldn't move.
I tried yelling for help but that didn't work.I wriggled my way free.There was no way to escape."I knew I shouldn't of trusted you.",I exclaimed.
He tried to punch me but I moved out of the way.I tripped him but he got back up quickly.I punched him in the stomach.And he swatted at me.He tripped me but I got back up.
I did a backhand spring to get away.doing cheerleading since elementary school really came in handy.We swatted at each other for a while until he tripped me and pinned me on the ground.
But then I wasn't in control anymore.I transformed into the cheetah...the monster that really was inside."What the-"I punched him the nose and he fell on the ground.I quickly kicked him and he kicked me.We kicked and punched at each other.He through me up against the wall.I started coughing and everything was blurry.
I got back up and I was back in control.I was thrown across the ground.My wrist was in pain I grabbed it.Everything was blurry.I tried to stand but I collapsed back on the ground.I heard a boys voice but then everything went black.
