I was standing on a grassy hill looking out at the beautiful sunset. I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned to see Vince with one arm behind his back.
"What do you want?" I asked in annoyance.
Vince just stared at me with a dazed expression.
"What?" I asked.
Vince continued to stare at me.
"Dude, you're creeping me out," I said.
As if snapping out of a trance, Vince shook his head.
"Sorry," he said. "I got caught up in the moment."
"Moment? What moment?"
Now I was really confused.
"Um," Vince began. "There's something I've been wanting to tell you."
"Okay?" I said.
Why was Vince being so nice. It was weirding me out. Suddenly, Vince pulled out a huge bouquet of flowers.
"Russell. Ever since I first saw you, I can't put you from my mind. I guess what I'm trying to say is... I love you. Will you go to prom with me?"
My mind went completely blank. I had no idea how to react to this sudden confession. This could not be happening.
"That's right!" I thought. "This must be a practical joke!"
"Haha! Very funny. Is this your way of rubbing in how single I am?"
Vince looked astonished.
"I'm being serious," he said.
"Sure you are," I said.
A smile spread across his face.
"Fine. I'll prove it to you," he said.
He started to lean towards me.
"Very funny dude, you can stop now," I said.
He ignored me and came closer.
"No, seriously. I get it. You can stop now," I said.
He continued getting closer and I began to panic. Okay, so I made the wrong assumption, but... LIKE HELL AM I GIVING MY FIRST KISS TO VINCE!!!!
"But we're both guys," I said.
"I don't care," Vince replied.
"Uh," I said.
Now he was dangerously close to my face.
"NO! NO! NO!" I yelled.
I sat up in a panic.
"AH!" I yelled.
Vince woke with a start.
"What? Did something happen?" he yelled.
"Uh... no just a nightmare," I said.
"What the heck man!" he said.
"Sorry," I replied.
"Whatever, just go back to sleep."
I laid back down only to remember the contents of my dream. I felt my face flush red. After trying and failing to fall back asleep for several minutes, I knew that I wouldn't be able to unless I put my mind to rest. So, I finally asked.
"Hey Vince? You still awake?" I whispered.
"What do you think dim wit," he whispered back.
"Sorry bout that."
