Go ahead and cry little boy
You know that your daddy did too
You know what your mama went through
You gotta let it out soon, just let it out
-----You and Sam had only been together for a month, it's not a long time but it felt like forever. And you loved it. Sam would bring you coffee in the morning. He would snuggle close to you when it was cold. He would make you laugh until your tummy hurt. It was like the good old days.
Except, Sam started to have those days. They didn't come as often as yours did, but they were there. You didn't notice them at first. Sam would always say that nothing was wrong, but then, then you started to pick up on it. Because thats what you used to do, in the beginning. You would say that you were fine, you would say that you were 'just tired' or that you had a headache. Everyone would brush it off, but then it got worse.
Sam would sit there, and stare at a wall, or he would stay in bed all day and say he didn't feel good. You knew something was wrong. Sam wasn't his usual self, or what you thought was his usual self.
----
It was just another normal Tuesday morning. Nothing happening. There hadn't been any sightings so it was all quite. Dean was in the kitchen with Cas. He was making pancakes for breakfast. Dean made the best pancakes. Cas was sitting at the chairs watching Dean. His head in his hand. Smiling. You walked in saying 'good morning' while attempting to find the coffee maker which always tends to move spots.
"Who moved the coffee pot again" you sighed.
"I've already made some coffee, the pot's on the table with cups and sugar" Dean answered, in the midst of flipping a pancake. Lucky for you, Cas just snapped his fingers and a cup appeared in front of you, with added milk. Just how you like it.
"How's Sam doing Y/N?" Cas asked, turning his attention to you.
"He was asleep when I woke up, I might bring him coffee though, if he doesn't plan on coming down anytime soon"
Dean handed you a plate of 3 pancakes. Adding some maple syrup and some ice cream because, who doesn't love ice cream with pancakes. You know that you don't want to bring up the topic of Sam again, but your genuine concern speaks for itself.
"Guys, I'm- I'm really worried about Sam. He's never been like this before. I'm worried that he's becoming another me, like, like I've rubbed off on him?"
Dean spoke up from his place in the kitchen
"Don't worry Y/N, he's fine. It's Sam he can get through anything. I mean, the kids' been through hell, literally""Shut up, Dean, honestly how is it that you always find a way to joke about absolutely everything. Do you really know anything about Sam? I understand that he is your baby brother and you guys have been on the road with each other for god knows how long, but have you tried to speak to him? You drink away your problems, as if drinking is a substitute for the emptiness you actually feel inside."
"Ouch Y/N, that hit me right in my cold dead heart" He said gesturing towards his heart in sheer mockery.
"Fuck you Dean" you spit back.
Cas spoke up this time.
"I must admit, I have been keeping a close eye on Sam and he doesn't seem the same as he used to be. I'm not sure what has happened but something needs to be done"
"So, are you guys finished talking about me or are you going to keep going?" Sam was heard in the doorway, leaning against the frame. His hair all messed up from sleep.
"Sam! I-uh was just about to bring you a coffee" He looked mad, and upset. A frown sat upon his features.
"Don't bother, Y/N. I'm not in the mood for anything right now"
