I straighten out my clothes one last time and take a shaky breath. Moving halfway across the world sucks ass. Especially when you have to wear uniforms. I had to wear a black blazer with a white button up, a red and silver striped tie, a black skirt and black tights. My shoes also had to be black, and those ended up being vans. I had taken the time to straighten my hair as well. I tuck it behind my ear and bite my lip.
"Selena? Hurry, I need to get to work!" my mom screams up the stairs. I sigh one more time before grabbing my cell and backpack.
"Aw, you look so cute in your uniform, baby come here!" she says to my dad. I groan. "Mom, could we not?"
"We need a picture! Your first day of school in London!" My dad says, pulling out his phone. I glare at them, and my mom pouts her lower lip out. "Please? For your mommy?" she says. I role my eyes. "Just one," I say, smiling as my dad snaps the picture. "Okay, you guys should head out!" he says, giving me a quick hug.
"After today I expect you to walk to school... we only live three blocks away." My mom says, as she's pulling into the parking lot. "Okay, bye!" I say, hopping out of the car before she can embarrass me.
I walk into the cafeteria and I can already spot all the different groups. I felt out of place. I look for the front office, quickly spotting it, and walking in. The women was on the phone, but a blonde boy was sitting next to her. "May I help you? I'm the TA," he says. "Uh yeah, I'm new. I need my schedule" I tell him, shifting my weight.
"Ah, you're from America? My names Niall," he says, smiling while handing me a slip of paper. "Selena," I tell him, returning the smile. "Your lockers not far from here... it's just around the corner." he tells me helpfully. I nodd in thanks and leave the room.
I try my combination a few times before the bell rings. My first class was literature which was conveniently across the hall from my locker.
I find a seat in the back of the classroom. I was one of the first people here.
"I don't believe that for one second, you're telling me that your mom gave you the okay to have a party when she's gone next month?" a brunette boy says, while sitting on front of me. "I swear on it Lou, she said only about twenty people over, but still! This is great!" the curly haired boy says, who sat beside him. The boy Lou seemed like he was going to say something, but the teacher entered the room.
"Goodmorning class! We have a new student, would you like to introduce yourself?" The teacher looks at me, gesturing for me to stand. All eyes were on my now. I stood, but I feel like it didn't make much of a difference because of my height. "Um, my name is Selena. I moved here from America a week ago." I say uncomfortably, and sit down.
I was forgotten about as soon as I sat down. I sigh and doodle on my note book as I hear a girl come in late. She was buttoning up her blazer. "Sorry Mr. E I was running late!" she says hurrying back to her seat, which was by me. "This is your last chance Amelia." he says, marking it down. She rolls her eyes and sits, pulling out her notebook. The curly haired boy turned around. "Woke up late or was too caught up with Zayn?" he says, smirking. her face turns red before she fires back. "Shut up Harry, at least I can get some!" she says, you can tell it's jokingly. He laughs and the boy next to him joins in.
"Are you new?" she asks, noticing me. "Uh yeah. Im Selena." I tell her. "I'm Amelia. Sorry you're stuck sitting behind these freaks," she says, flicking Harry in the back of the head. I giggle as he throws a piece of his poptart at her. "Oh it's okay." I tell her. "Can I see Your schedule?" she asks, and I hand it over. "We have chem, which is right before lunch, and lunch together! you can sit with me!" she says cheerfully.
I feel like I let out a breath, knowing that I wouldn't be that person standing in the front of the cafeteria with no where to go.
"And Louis and I," Harry says. Louis turns around. "I didn't catch your name love. What was it again?" he asks, making me a tad bit annoyed. "It's Selena," Harry says, emphasizing the sound of it, then winks at me. I can feel my cheeks heat up. "Well it's nice to meet you Sel," Louis says, shaking my hand. I laugh, "You too." I tell him, pulling my hand back.
