We were in geography; I sat on a table with Aman and River. They kept arguing like brother and sister over which anime character was better.

"Rin is so much better than Naruto!" Exclaimed River, throwing her arms up.

"Nah, Naruto has that sick run, he is way cooler."

I zoned out for these conversations since I knew nothing about anime. I was almost so far gone in my own little world that I almost didn't hear the ear splitting scream of the fire alarm.

"Leave your-" Mr Harris started but everyone had already packed up and grabbed their bags.

We rushed out of the room laughing and grabbing friends. I found Daniel, Freya and Ebony who were all in my form, and we went out into the playground. Every form had a designated number to line up at in register order, and by that I mean huddle with your friends and think of all the possible ways to set off the fire alarm.

When we finally found our form line we huddled around, laughing and going on our phone. We took selfies on Daniel's snapchat and Ebony was reading her book. It must have lasted at least half an hour before the teachers let us go back in. Luckily it had been last period so we packed up as soon as we got in and left five minutes later.

As usual I met with Inferno and Venus at the gates. We discussed the whole fire thing and then started on the whole question thing again.

"Jacob or Edward?" He put his hand together to make him look like an evil master mind.

"Jacob! Wolves are the best!" I cried.

"True." He laughed.

"You two are so weird." Inferno butted in.

"I know child, I know." I patted his head and then ran my hand along Echo's fur.

He had grown so big! It had almost been a year since I had received my spirit. His eyes had gone from blue to yellow and was nearing the height of my chest. While I thought about this I almost forgot I had company.

"- anyway," Venus continued, "Who is going to the park today?"

"What?" I replied, shocked I hadn't been notified.

"Oh, yeah, everyone is going to the park after they go home and get changed." He looked down at me, looking as confused as I was.

"Oh, yeah I'll come. Why not?" I shrugged it off.

"Sweet, well, I shall see you then Ken." He ran across the road to his pretty big house and I continued on.

I ran upstairs and looked through my clothes. What to wear? I found some nice black pants and shoved them on. I then went through my shirts. I found a nice flannel one that would do. I never really went out with school friends and I didn't want to look like a scruff. I tied my hair in a side plait and pulled on my khaki cap. The park was five minutes from my house so I set off with my headphones in.

Once I got there I looked around to see who had come. I spotted Venus with RIver and Zack. Then there was the twins and Aman. I saw some girls that I didn't know that well, and they made me feel over dressed. They were wearing crop tops and short-shorts. I tried to sneak around to River but that didn't go to well.

"Kendra!" Called Zack, and everyone turned to look at me.

"Oh, hey." I said.

"You weren't invited." One of the girls scowled at me.

"Hey, this park is closer to my house than is to any of yours' so I have just as mucha right to be here." I replied.

"Plus, I invited her." Aman raised his hand and high-fived me.

The girl huffed and carried on her conversation.

"Ignore her." River rolled her eyes and hugged me.

The whole thing was really the boys playing football, the other girls cheering them on, River, Venus and me sitting on a bench talking about films. We played with Echo and Francis for a bit with a ball. Echo had really started to love Francis. Francis was a black fox with a white tipped tail. He was half the size of Echo, and never left River's side. It was fun, just to be out of the house with my friends. Once it was time to go I hugged River and bid farewell to Venus then plodded back to my house. It was seven o'clock so I grabbed a bowl of cereal and slipped up to my room and into bed. My mum opened the door two minutes later and asked me about it.

"Oh, everyone just played football and I sat with River." I said, yawning to show her I was tired.

"Ok, goodnight." She stood up and closed my door. My room went into darkness and I fell asleep within seconds of the black blanket covering me.
